I thought The Undead had an interesting premise and twist ending. If only it wasn't so...Corman.
Instead of focusing on the interesting part: a streetwise future lady helping her past life to escape being executed, unwittingly dooming herself, he chose to have people wander from set to set saying things at each other.

I think most of the movies they do aren't that far removed from being good movies. It's what makes the show and b movies in general fun. The only ones that are truly irredeemable are stuff like the red scare movies.

I used to think Monster A-Go-Go was the worst since its barely stitched together at all. After re-watching Invasion USA recently I decided it had to be that one. Its just straight fascist propaganda.

Invasion USA is one of my favorites, but the messages are all over the map. The capitalist is bad, the commies are bad, doing nothing is bad, taking action is bad, a cub is a small bear. The only clear message from the movie is that hypnotists are assholes and the Great Vorelli already taught us that.

The capitalist was only bad because he was avoiding investing in the military industrial complex.

Welcome to the 1950s, when America still had a factory-based economy so being a capitalist usually meant you actually loving made things or were in charge of people who did.

Seriously though, the whole plot of that movie kicked off because a journalist was polling his fellow boozehounds about a "universal draft" which would've seen people get assigned jobs at factories and shipyards and poo poo, which the film implies would be a good thing because Preparedness. That's a pretty loving drastic example of state-centralized economic planning. You know who does that sort of thing? Commies. Except I don't think even the Soviets went so far as to pre-select the average citizen's occupation!

We haven't had that spirit here since 1969.

Rifftrax is doing another Kickstarter this year. They've already hit their funding goal and now they're just going for sheer number of backers. The more they get, the more bonus shorts they'll do, and every backer (even at the $1 level) gets all of them that they do. They've already got enough to unlock the first one in the list. Last year they easily got all ten, and I'd expect them to do the same this year.

3500 Backers - Warty, The Toad
3750 Backers - Rediscovery: Puppets
4000 Backers - Join Hands, Let Go!
4250 Backers - Clean and Neat with Harv and Marv
4500 Backers - Health: Your Posture
4750 Backers - You’re The Judge
5000 Backers - How To Keep a Job
5250 Backers - 10 Long Minutes
5500 Backers - The Day I Died
5750 Backers - Ghost Rider
