Like I know that basically just displacing cultures to other planets or eras is a time honoured thing, but the viking stuff sticks out to me or some reason. Flash Gordon always had a certain Prince Valiant feel alongside the sci-fi elements, even in this era where they're apparently trying to be more "sci-fi" than the classic stuff with Mongo and Ming and Hawk Men etc.

Even that tired trope is an acknowledgement of "hey dating online isn't that different from the dating of the not online." Luann calls it all "not normal" like that means anything.

Seeing comics like Everett True sometimes and Dok's Dippy Duck almost all the time doing jokes like that it definitely gives me an appreciation for those highly specific reference jokes.
