Basically no one-shot movies are also one-take movies, because, you know, that would be ludicrously technically challenging and if one person flubbed a line they'd have to reshoot the entire thing. I'd be genuinely intrigued to find out what the longest single take in a published movie is though.

There's also the school shooting from Canadian cop drama 19-2 (trigger warning if y'all need it, it's a school shooting) https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2f6jgz Couple of things: 19-2 was originally a Québécois cop show, that got adapted for the Anglo audience. The guy who directed the French version of this episode also got brought back in for the English. Also, the first guy outta the car is Jared Keeso, one of the series leads; you probably know him better as Wayne from Letterkenny.

Sebastian Schipper's 2hr18m 2015 film Victoria was allegedly done in a single take, shot from about 4:30 AM to 7:00 AM on 27 April 2014. Russian Ark was also allegedly completed in one shot in real time. They only had access to the Winter Palace for one day and hosed up the first few takes. (I don't actually know enough about either film to say whether that's genuinely true.)

My favourite thing about kung fu movies is how unevenly beaten up mooks get. Like one guy gets kicked in the chest and falls down, and the next couple get all their limbs broken one at a time and then thrown of a building. Then gently caress it I'll just hide from this next guy, I could effortlessly annihilate him but nah, take a quick break.

The halo jump in the latest Mission Impossible is a single shot. It's not super long compared to some but it's still impressive for a stunt, especially since they probably just threw Tom Cruise out of an actual plane to film it. Edit: there's also that classic short film where they just stuck a camera on the front of a car and had a racing driver tear arse through paris for ten minutes, I forget the name.

Phy posted:C'était un rendez-vous Despite being totally reckless that film is an amazing bit of driving. I like how it almost seems to fall into three acts. First you have him entering the city with lots of straightaways and bold expressions of speed for rising action. Then he bursts blindly through the arc and he's violently doing switchbacks through the heart of the city as a series of struggles. Finally the ascent through the hills where the driving really gets intense and after vanquishing the city he gets the girl. And yeah he didn't do it in a Ferrari, he did it in this. In casino royale 2006 early in the film bond tells vesper she isn’t his type because she’s single which seems a throwaway line but later at the end when they’re together you find out she hasn’t been single the whole movie which means she was his type the whole time. Other than that, the movie isn’t very good imo

My favorite part of Casino Royale is how egregiously it ripped off District B13. At one point in the theater I literally said " I bet he's going to jump through a window above a door." 30 seconds later, the guy did exactly that. What a joke. Edit: because I forgot how mad that whole opening made me. I saw it in theaters with my French speaking friend that took me to see District 13 in theater, coincidentally. The Daniel Craig films are the only Bond films that accurately portray him as a psycopath so they all get a pass from me. Insofar as you can get subtle moments in MCU films I thought this was a nice callback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWHfDlT1HNo&t=42s In Dr Strange the "Army colonel with his spine crushed by experimental armor" that gets mentioned then discarded as not interesting enough by Strange is this guy from Iron Man 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGdhBOvpZiI&t=11s
