Controversial opinion: Park's actions were necessary for Haruka's dream to occur. Sure, Haruka spends most of 5 realizing she'd rather be with Kiryu than an idol after all, and Park did have some self interest in pushing her, but both Haruka and Kiryu told Park they wanted her to be on the stage, and Park actually succeded there. I mean, Kiryu was obviously so good at not being drawn back into the criminal world, or keeping his family out of harm's way. Yup. Haruka could've (maybe, possibly, well, there's a chance at least) lived a quieter life and still be around Kiryu, but not as an idol. Majima figured this out 0; it takes Kiryu much longer to realize it.

It's still kind of bullshit that Haruka came to that realization at the worst possible time and threw Dream-Line under the bus as a result of it. People got seriously hurt and died getting Haruka to the Japan Dome and it's there that she decides to pull a Kiryu on everyone? But I digress, a lot of this is touched on in 6 in the case of Kiryu Is Actually Not a Great Father Figure.

Was trying to be vague intentionally because some people are going through 6 but yes. God I loved 6 so much, how it stripped out a lot of series baggage to tell a really personal story about Kiryu and his families and for sake of the people playing through now I'll stop there.

Kiwami's only sin is that it was made before 0 and thus has to try its best to tie new elements into the first Yakuza. Well that and still making you fight against the firing squad. When you're already making Nishiki more of a character, you can improve one of the worst fights in the game.

Unfortunately Mirei has a point, Kiryu is torn between the obligation to take care of Haruka as he said that Haruka and Sunshine was the only thing that gave him meaning in life since the whole mess in his absence was his doing that got the three people in his life killed. Haruka was the only good thing to come out of all of this. And even then Daigo did everything to make sure Kiryu's exile is as comfortable as possible for him, even hooking him up with a woman who bears a resemblence to Yumi. Had Kiryu not found out that she was the daughter of a crime boss he may have accepted his stay in Fukuoka, that was until the Tojo decided to drag him out to serve their own needs.

wait for the remasters, stay strong. it will be worth it, a lot needs retranslating to make kiryu sound more like kiryu and the uncut substories and that poo poo substory wiped away. 4 and 5 need translation/rewording tweaks too to bring it more in line with 0/kiwamis/6
