calcio owns, my fav thing is that as soon as they throw the ball dudes immediately start squaring off and this is what they are supposed to do. also play doesn't stop for injuries so medics have to wait for the action to go by before they run into the field to tend to fallen players https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksJtH2CCCUY related, there's a holiday in some parts of peru that is the day where everyone gets together and you just fight whoever made you mad that year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22BCX4rs458

Found in the PYF Lifehack thread, featuring thigh fillets from people who don’t realize how knives work:Sandwich Anarchist posted:When I worked the kitchen at a Disney hotel, we had interns, in culinary school, come through all the time that were just completely clueless. Things like borrowing a chef's knife to pry a can open, or not using a towel to pick up a hot pan, or leaning back and resting their elbows on a flat top grill. The worst was when a kid cleaned his knife and was trying be flashy as he dried it off on his apron with two quick swipes.

With Disney pricing, that filet cost an arm and a leg.

I also saw a guy working a fryer while wearing a watch have the watch slip his wrist and plop into the fryer. He went after by reaction, dunked his hand in the oil; when he pulled back, he went off balance and fell forward, going up to his elbow in the grease. The skin sloughed off his arm, it was horrific. The worst kitchen injury I've ever seen.

That is a pretty sad story. I wonder what kind of safety procedures weren’t followed to lead to that.

https://twitter.com/dcfireems/status/1103382879969648644 Windchills were relatively bad for this time of year around the DC area today, so I guess his hands went numb or he lost coordination. https://twitter.com/dcfireems/status/1103422058179035136 Probably embarrassing for the guy, but a good way for it to end.

It was cold and windy as gently caress today. 19 degrees before the windchill and that dude is definitely not wearing something meant for sub-zero temps. FFS he's wearing jeans.

Powershift posted:Is it time to post the Canadian kitchen work safety PSA again? My roommate in college slipped in a similar manner when he was in high school working at a fast food joint. He caught himself before he hit the floor... He caught himself by sticking his entire arm into a deep fryer running at full heat with no basket in. He had several skin grafts but he healed up OK. The worst was his palm that hit the element. That never really healed right. It looked really messed up. He often advised that floors around deep fryers need to be mopped religiously and mats need to be down.
