Chicks are so cute at that stage, too bad it only lasts a few days before the feathers come out and they look awkward. It was fun watching ours in the box - sometimes they would just be walking around tra-la-la and then drop into sleep like a switch was thrown. Or when they'd stop, do a wing flex and pop out a poo. You could almost hear a teeny grunt.

this becomes way more interesting to watch once you realize a lot of these colors are within the dog's view of the color spectrum - they have dichromatic vision and see primarily in blues and yellows. they can't perceive green as 'green', but they can tell it's a different color...I wonder if he sees the yellow in all the green or? Fascinating...

Fascinating... Photoshop lets you preview an image how a colour-blind person sees them. It's not perfect for a dog's vision, but it does give us an idea.
