Tulsi Gabbard is funny because you don’t even have to dig to find her stupid bad opinions. It’s just all out in the open lol.

Way too many people are giving Tulsi a pass on her spectacularly lovely opinions based solely on the fact that she endorsed Bernie in 2016 very early on.

Christ. At what point does Joe Biden wear out his loving welcome? It's March and all of the leading contenders have declared. If he still doesn't do it by the end of March, I think he's going to miss his window.

Maybe he's trying to line up donors, or seeing if he can get a promise of the VP slot or something if he endorsed one of the other candidates, or maybe he wants to hold off being a candidate for as long as possible because "Will Biden run?!?!" coverage is a hell of a lot more favorable to him than "Look at this dumb poo poo Biden did/said today"

biden would save the country if he sat out and it's unfortunate he doesn't get that.

I don't believe Biden inspires the enthusiasm necessary to win a primary. I think he might win a general, paradoxically, but I don't think he'll make it through a primary. I mean, who are his supporters? Old dinosaurs who never in a million years would get off their asses to phonebank, knock on doors, or drive people to the polls. Even Hillary had a core of very loyal followers, and Biden has never inspired that kind of loyalty. Fritz Coldcockin fucked around with this message at 15:24 on Mar 7, 2019 |

I don’t think I’d care what a Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden does to come to the head of their party in a parliamentary system, because I wouldn’t be forced into the same party as them on account of the functional other choice being neo Nazis in the first place.

i have a very real fear he'll win. in a just and logical world his past and current positions would sink him almost immediately but hope is a lie.

Lightning Knight posted:Tulsi Gabbard is funny because you don’t even have to dig to find her stupid bad opinions. It’s just all out in the open lol. I think the Iraq War was such an obvious catastrophe and yet continued to be supported and defended by the foreign policy establishment of both parties beyond all reason, that the consequence is anyone saying "yo that war was dumb" immediately gets this whole myth-making community surrounding them and making them into their fantasy antiwar candidate regardless of that person's actual positions which are almost always hawkish but in a somewhat different atrocious way than the establishment's hawkishness. Ron Paul "opposed the war" but he wanted to just add private mercenary armies to the military industrial complex and write them all a blank check to do anything they wanted anywhere they wanted with unlimited government funds. Gary Johnson "criticized drone strikes" but whenever he was actually interviewed he said "no of course we have to drone strike the terrorists, Obama is just doing it wrong and causing too much collateral damage, but I will kill the terrorists without the collateral damage don't ask me for any specifics ok" Tulsi Gabbard said the war was dumb (five years after everyone else figured it out) so now she's the latest antiwar savior, even though her chief foreign policy difference with the Obama administration was that he wasn't bombing the Middle East enough. I don't see how biden can capture the primary audience once he starts running, has a platform, some town halls, and talking about policy, even before we get to the debates. Even the Hillary wing candidate is aping Bernie, and theres no chance Biden will move to the left. He'll make The Klobb look like a leftist when he starts describing his "gently caress your college debt, gently caress M4A, invade Venezuela, reach across the isle, bipartisan rim jobs, sensible climate policy while focusing on extracting more gas and oil, big ups to the finance sector, don't tax the wealthy". I just can't see once he gets going anyone being drawn to that. Right now he has name recognition and no one but the terminally online knows how lovely he is, they just remember "oh yeah, obama's vp". Maybe I'm shooting myself in the foot but, man I just don't see it happening. Tom Guycot fucked around with this message at 15:56 on Mar 7, 2019 |

The two major upsides to Biden running are
The major downside is the second scenario could end with Biden getting the nomination and then America is hosed.
|
# ? Mar 7, 2019 15:56 |
The best-case scenario is Biden causes terminal infighting in the centrist wing and then Bernie sweeps the left.
