I can't tell whether Rall doesn't understand the mechanism by which voter ID laws disenfranchise people or whether someone told him to make the kind of argument that's lovely in the exact way that causes his argument to bolster the opposing side. Because he is a very whiny man with weird blind spots for a politically engaged individual, but also this is literally a Republican straw man.

I wonder if the guy who spends every Woman's Day on twitter pointing this out to people who ask ever had to point it out to the same person on two different years.

BLUE CITY BLUES

Many liberal-run cities on the west coast are becoming centers of squalor.

It’s gotten so bad in some areas that it rivals some of the worst third-world cities. Open drug use takes place on the streets, where discarded drug needles abound. Human feces must be stepped around. Homeless and aggressive panhandlers harass citizens for handouts. Car burglaries have become commonplace.

Millions of dollars are thrown at the homeless problem and it only gets worse. Free money given to them by the tax payers is wasted on drugs. The cities are sanctuaries for hordes of illegal aliens, who are here to get free stuff and scoff at the law. The socialists promise utopia, but instead they turn clean, prosperous cities into hell holes.

The progressives are making progress, though. Plastic straws have now been banned in many urban areas.

Me, explaining gentrification to Ben Garrison: Okay, so, everything is new, like within the last 20 years new, and everything is expensive, and looks fancy in that simplistic way like it's from Ikea or something, and there are four-story luxury apartment buildings everywhere that cost way too much money, and all the poor people are gone because they got priced out years ago, and the people you see instead all look very smart but very rich, and there are designer glasses everywhere, and

Ben Garrison, nodding attentively: Uh huh. Oh yeah? Huh. Really. *writing* Human... feces... everywhere.

Didn't you hear him? Liberals throw money at the homeless problem and it only gets worse! Therefore the only solution is to, I don't know, ignore them and let them die I guess, and decrease the surplus population.

November 19 since 1999, though some variants of it have existed in some parts of the world at other dates for nearly a century now.

I think we need to establish International IMD Awareness Day, which would be set on March 7, and dedicated to reminding men that International Men's Day is on November 19.

On the plus side we're close to solving this one! Once women have to register, it'll be a humans rights issue, rather than men's rights!

A lot of people locally complain about "aggressive panhandlers" that are downtown, but I happen to live in this terrible scummy area full of unclean unpersons, and it's not uncommon for me to walk around, and to be honest I have no idea what they mean by "aggressive." "Will dare talk to me," I think it is. That's aggressive and scary! Arrest them for harassing me! What do you mean, you can't just arrest them because I say so? I have definitely seen people be angry because the cops won't just arrest someone on the word of Joe Random without any proof.

I mean, yeah, a lot of people will come up to talk to you first, and i guess that's their great sin, but most of them are perfectly lovely people if you chat with them a bit, regardless of whether or not you have the change to spare.

(For the record, I'm a woman, if that affects how you take my perspective. I've certainly felt threatened by people on the street, but never by anyone asking me for spare change in broad daylight.)
