catlord posted:So, uh... what is the deal with the Winnie the Pooh characters? The wank material makes some sense (though I'm sure you can find whatever Harley Quinn porn you want with a google search for free, so...), but the Winnie the Pooh characters are the weird... not constant, but recurring element. There's no nudity in there, but maybe don't click on it at work anyway, though I'm sure HR would love to know why you're looking at nazi Winnie the Pooh pointing a gun at two clowns in lingerie. The thing that bothers me about this image is that "Hardlee Thinn" is, in fact, very thin and not particularly voluptuous in terms of comic characters. I've seen sexier stuff on mainstream comics!

Apologies for not being able to update you until now, but that's the nature of lawsuits--(a) there's a limit to what the parties can (or should) say in public without complicating matters, and (b) the wheels grind slowly. I feel like the original tweet from Mike Norton on Devil's Due being trash got posted but a number of others have come out with their stories on being owed money. I'm surprised Seeley's working with them again. He took out a second mortgage to pay the artists on HACK/SLASH when Devil's Due did its thing.

I doubt there's anybody really clamoring to publish a 90's Bad Girl comic anymore. Hack/Slash really only exists due to his sheer will to keep publishing it at this point.

I can't wait for them to try and spin the flick as a flop, probably leaning hard on the RT score which they themselves have announced they're going to bomb.

Didn’t RT just implement something to prevent review bombing though? That had already been testing in the background for a year?

SUPERMAN'S GAL PAL posted:Didn’t RT just implement something to prevent review bombing though? That had already been testing in the background for a year? quote:Rotten Tomatoes will now open comments after a film’s premiere, and it’s not changing the way users can review films — ideally, once people start watching the movie, their good-faith positive and negative reviews will eclipse the bad-faith commentary from people who haven’t seen it and don’t intend to. Rotten Tomatoes still has moderators scan for suspicious reviews and remove them after release, though, and the spokesperson says it’s mulling an equivalent to Amazon’s “verified purchase” badge, which reviewers could get if they bought tickets through Fandango. Seems like they've hit up Metacritic as well!

That entire exchange was kind of crazy, Claire was in full snark mode and drew some frankly confusing conclusions/assumptions about a mediocre-to-bad cover to a mediocre-to-bad comic. Dan Panosian namesearched and defended himself in a way that was not a great look (in terms of namesearching/mansplaining) but wasn't all that terrible, and Claire went full snarkfest in response, but even then Panosian wouldn't drop it but seemed to be acting in misguided good faith or at least not actively antagonizing/lovely faith. And then someone Frank Tieri bulldozed his way in and started threatening to punch people and telling everyone who disagrees they could go gently caress themselves and suck his dick because he's Fuckin' Frank Tieri, literally one of the only consistently employed Big Two comic creators that I have literally never met/heard of a vocal fan of. Say what you want about Rob Liefeld or Jeph Loeb or Greg Land or Scott Lobdell or Chuck Dixon or anyone else, you know there are people out there who remember and enjoy their work.

He's writing on and off for DC and Marvel too. I think he's writing some Harley Quinn stuff at DC right now. And just had a Marvel one shot drop this week. I've never seen him have any ties to CG and the fact that he still gets work from both of the Big Two means that's probably right as they have both distanced themselves from anyone with any ties to CG.

To be clear I agree that Frank Tieri has no avowed association with Comicsgate he's just an almost unbelievably forgettable/subpar but prolific writer who is apparently also an Internet Tough Guy and the person yelling "go gently caress yourself, drop a pin and I'll fight you for not liking my comic you pussy" could easily be swept up in a CG blockfest depending on the circumstances.
