Probably because there are a lot of people on this forum extremely bad at differentiating where "criticizing church bureaucracy and people who thrust it into others lives" ends and where basic everyday people doing their personal/cultural thing begins. Because they are in fact edgy internet atheists and people from predominately Protestant countries with extremely confusion over how religion gets involved in cultural identities and isn't just some vacuum existing thing.
