The entire thing looks like the budget was whatever coins the producer found in his pocket after some digging around.

Universal seems to have a crazy DTV department.
Did y'all know they put out a faith based sequel to Angelina Joile's Unbroken from the Director of God's Not Dead 1&2 last year?

Yeah I have no interest in or any nostalgia for the original one, but looked OK for a family film that I have zero interest in seeing. Was going to make a joke about how it was going to make more than all Guy Richie's other films combined, but checked the numbers and both the Sherlock Holmes films did close to or around $200 million.

Also lol at the princess' very British accent. How is Ben Kingsley not in this?

I've gotta buck the trend here and say that looked way better than I assumed. Still not good enough for me to watch it, though. Unless I read glowing reviews from people who hated the Beauty and the Beast remake.

The second Disney adapted one of their cartoons into live action and it made them a fuckload of money. Then they did another one and it also made them a fuckload of money.

Turns out Disney likes fuckloads of money so I’m guessing they’re just going to continue adapting their cartoons until the money stop.

Spoiler: The money is never going to stop.

Disney Shareholders who saw how much Beauty and the Beast made. There's three of these this year alone. Pretty sure Lion King is going to be one of the highest grossing movies of all time.

Yikes. Didn't even know about those. I think along with B&B (which still made all the money despite not being *that* well received), Aladdin and The Lion King are the big guns... until they decide to Frozen I guess.

The rumor a couple months back was that the next live action Disney remake was going to be The Nightmare Before Christmas, which sounds like such a bad idea that I wouldn’t be surprised if it was nonsense and never in the cards to begin with.

It looks okay! Will Smith looks much better than expected. I think him being blue all the time would make him stand out much more when he's around real actors instead of a cartoon. His comedic timing was pretty good also.

Jafar doesn't look or sound menacing enough, and I expected Will Smith to be the problem based on the teasers. I'm going to take my seven year old step-daughter to this and probably have a good time, even though I generally think the live action adaptations are heartless.

I'm still not sold on Will as the Genie but when they started "A whole new world" it felt like they got that right.
