Nobody knows how easy or hard tier 3 will be.

but if you're struggling with tier 2 for any reason other than light, you need to uninstall. it's literally a lost sector in terms of length and difficulty

Any time you get a synth, you have a chance at getting a specific curated gun instead.

AoO and Mote Have Been both seem to award a synth

edit: Apparently if you hadn't done Thief of Thieves before, when you do it the first time, you still get the Drifter dialogue. You then have to leave Titan and come back and do it again.
