I took the octopath less travelered,

And it made one-eighth the difference.
Check your photo albums, chances are you took pictures of bears.

Then post them here, I want to see everyone's bear photos.

Being able to keep other animals and skeleton horses as your steed is probably my first hope for whenever they go back to open world Zelda tbh. Was properly upset when I discovered the stable man wouldn't let me put my skeleton horse in the stable, the sun was coming up so I fed it an apple, gave it a good pat and watched as it dissolved in the light :(

I had this exact same experience :(:hf::(

What was that open worldish megaman game where your suit got darker if you did bad poo poo? I kept kicking cans around and felt super bad as a kid because I looked like a bad guy.

Megaman legends? Can I play that in any modern way

Never played Startropics but it's clearly a good game. I even got to see a pigs butthole and that has to have been a first on the NES.

And speaking of Yoshi music, this remix is obviously the best one. It proves that Yoshi's are good Socialists who are willing to sacrifice all to reunite a lost newborn with their parents. We should all strive to be more like Yoshi on this mortal coil.

Yes, and as far as I know you'd have to emulate it if you don't have a PS1 or N64 lying around.

But that's what the genre has been called for decades. It will eventually get a better name that isn't made up of other game names. Remember when the doomlike Half Life was released?

Roguelikes need a better name too, but at least rogue is already generic enough and kind of fits already. Rogue was a well named game.

I have no memories of calling Half Life a doomlike. Pretty sure the term first person shooter was in use then.

What kind of game is Startropics anyway? I've heard of it but it's always seemed to skirt around the fringes of discussions. Is it an RPG? Is it like Zelda?

Its a lot like Zelda mostly. Top-down action-adventure game with dungeons and powerups coming from item collection.

Also the player character is a rad American dude who uses a Yo-yo as his main weapon and rollerskates.

They do not refund accidental purchases. It seems crazy to me the DLC isn't on sale at all.

I sometimes like to pick up random indie games that look interesting so I got Valley earlier. Turns out it's pretty good.
It's first person so I expected it to be yet another walking sim and it sorta is except you find a WW2-era rabbit exoskeleton that lets you run around and jump like a mad bastard. It also has gloves that let you suck the life out of living plants and animals or revive them. The thing is that any time you die part of the life on the island gets sucked up to revive you so you should totally be reviving anything dead you find. It's a really interesting game mechanic.
The end goal is to find some mystical McGuffin that has the potential to destroy all of earth and you are constantly being guided by some nerdy researcher lady via tapes. Also, it takes place in Canada.
While it looks a bit grimy on Switch and the framerate isn't great the jumping feels among the best I've ever experienced in a first person game. You feel like a god damns super human when double jumping between cliffs. I also give it cudos for letting you see your legs when you look down. That's probably part of why the jumping feels so good.

ActRaiser is a great SimCity-like with Joe&Mac elements

The worst part about Actraiser was that Actraiser II was designed with the assumption people hated the good parts of Actraiser and liked the bad stuff.

In a just world, Actraiser II would've been like a more polished Actraiser and we'd have gotten 3+ games. Also we'd have more games like E.V.O.
