Wikipedia says its 5 books, with the 4th due next year and the 5th TBD, plus ANOTHER 5 but they're supposedly prequels or some poo poo. I'm still waiting on Corey to finish The Expanse, which really tailed off after book 4 in terms of quality but goddamnit now I'm committed.

Discendo - how do you find time to 1) lawyer, 2) be up to date on multiple volume fantasy novels, and also 3) spend an inordinate amount of time studying the growth, development and pathologies of the alt-right? If 1 and 3 are the same - what do you do?

The Bar is just a student council organization here. Discipline is handled by the Board of Professional Responsibility which is overseen by the state Supreme Court. The tax is called the professional privilege (lol) tax. It’s $400 and also applies to a slew of other professions. The Board has yearly dues of $170 too but it doesn’t do any lobbying. There have been bills to repeal the privilege tax for the past few sessions. They never go anywhere. But considering the makeup of the legislature here, I can’t see them passing a new tax if one didn’t already exist. I would think Texas has a similar dynamic and would just let their state bar rot, which is Tennessee’s approach to court funding and indigent representation.
