Personally I really like both the new ED and OP a lot and I'm just mourning the loss of Freek'n You as a matter of principle. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's been like a year or two since I read the manga, so I can't recall if I got this same impression from it, but something I really liked about this episode is how absolutely loving absurd the events in it would sound if you tried to relay them to someone else, while the narrative is doing a really good job of presenting them in a terrifying way.

Yeah but it ain't 2003, and a scratchy aggressive song with a scratchy hard to parse intro fits for the section of the story that has the most major characters dying which is all I really want out of my anime openings. There's always at least one Stand Battle in every part where the cast just decides to become arbitrarily unwilling to believe that one of the core cast members might be acting strange because a Stand is attacking them. This case is probably the worst because they know a Stand attacked Narancia.
