Hey remember that time someone here found some lovely youtube movie critic and we all made fun of him, then someone bought him an account and we all made fun of him to his face and kept making jokes that he fucks his mother, then he failed some mod challenge and got banned in pretty much the same afternoon? Cinema audiences in the UK aren’t usually very loud at all so I don’t have many stories like this. When I went to see Peter Jackson’s King Kong there was a group of five people who gave it a standing ovation while nobody else did, and watching Get Out for the first time with an almost-full, majority black screen enhanced the experience a lot, but that’s about it. I’ve told this story before and it’s an example of me being accidentally lovely rather than a funny one but my friends and I went to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes completely baked and when Andy Serkis talks for the first time I couldn’t stop myself from laughing my rear end off and everyone around me including all my friends were really annoyed cos they thought it was good/powerful (and I know that’s the consensus but even when I watched through the whole trilogy last year I wasn’t into it)

The Wesker fights in 5 are sort of cool but they telegraph what you’re supposed to be doing extremely poorly, which undercuts how cool they feel because you’re fumbling around for so long. However, it’s extremely funny and owns that you win the second Wesker fight by turning the lights off on that sunglass wearing dummy.
