Best advice I was ever given?

"Ticker, you'll be a lot happier once you stop caring about the opinions of a culture that is beneath you."

I learned my worth, learned the places and people that matter.

Opened my eyes.

Everything that has happened so far still is a consequence of that one puppy dying

Yeah but like one dog dies and he's the protector of the animal kingdom but if three die well you kinda have to ask if this dude should be owning pets lol

Exploring the unexplained bits from your successful story is sequel writing 101. The Hobbit had the magic ring, Star Wars had Darth Vader and the force, and John Wick had the secret gold coin assassin hotel stuff.

Yeah sorry that's what i mean, better to move on to the assassination society than try to rehash the dead dog plot

And i don't think keanu will do that to us, i think good doggo will be safe

Seriously gently caress everybody who got me to watch John Wick on "he comes out of retirement because they kill his dog".
No, the dog is just an item that connects him to a dead wife. This ain't some hot new take, it's the same old dead wife bullshit.

Except it's the token of her memory that inspires his rampage. The dog might as well have been his wedding ring or a picture they took . It's lame and tired and y'all need to quit lyin, John Wick has some great fight choreography but it's just another B movie in every other regard.

The only thing that makes something a B movie is cost, and it cost a lot.

Oh sure "B movie" has never referred to the quality of writing or directing. My bad. People wanna act like it's the second coming. This is loving Boondock Saints all over again.

I think it's cool that stunt coordinators are getting more respect/control in Hollywood and making the movies they want to make but I don't get the hype behind the John Wick movies.

Aphrodite

Because a guy going on a killing spree because his dog was killed would make a movie less like a shlocky B movie, apparently.

It seems really weird this specific minor point of motivation is what the quality of the entire movie hinges on for you.

But sometimes explaining stuff that's just implied robs it of what was interesting and bogs your movie down in lore and minutiae. Like the Star Wars prequels. Or Metroid Other M.

And it should have been more important to the movie, like the kitten in Keanu.

Edit: Actually if the pitbull is somehow his sidekick in the new one and like helps him kill dudes or reload or whatever then I'm back in.

If there's one thing Marvel movies nail, it's that final action scene. I'm hype for almost all of them.

I think the Iron Man movies are the weakest, but even those are still pretty fun because robots.

Also I just came back from Captain Marvel and it was very good. I really wasn't sold on Brie Larson in the previews, but it all came together really nicely and I loved the chemistry she had with Sam Jackson.

I want a sequel where it's a buddy cop movie set in space with the two of them.

There aren't many to choose from tbh. They're all mostly mediocre, gimmicky and/or boringly shot, with Black Panther having probably the worst action of them all. My top 3 would probably be any fight from Winter Soldier in the top 2, you can mix and match whatever from there, and then I guess it's a toss up between the Bucky/Cap vs Stark fight and the segment of the Titan fight between Dr. Strange and Thanos for the 3 spot. Those were the only ones that stuck with me.

Anyone know what song was playing when Miles and Aaron are in the subway tagging the wall? According to google it says its Buss This, but I KNOW I heard samples of Black Sheep's The Choice in it, but Buss this does not have any of that in it.

It's also got that amazing Bongo Band sample as well

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened there. On a narrative, thematic, production/costume design level it's the best, but the CG fights were just kind of bad. Can't have it all I guess.
