I'm trying to figure out which one of those vehicles in the pic that thing was made from, or was it all 3 + the 250 gallon fluid container?

In the greater rabbit hole of things, Fender Anarchists post is all that really matters. Any further than that and you start getting into more questions than answers.

You know the flurry of donating to rape victim programs and such in the chat thread last month? That was because of Inch, unfortunately.

You can go to the middle of the February chat thread, but I’m not linking anything now that I’ve read enough. It’s just an extremely lovely situation that’s probably best left alone as far as I can tell.

For something like that you're basically CNC'ing any engine parts you need, right? I can't imagine there are any NOS parts left for a super niche motor.

#2 isn't ALWAYS bad...

The Seagrave truck V-12 is descended from a 1930s Pierce-Arrow design. Parts probably aren’t COMPLETELY impossible to get, but you’re going to be competing with brass-era restorers.

Ok, I'll bite. What would you describe as a brass-era restorer? Car restoration stuff fascinates me so I imagine this "Game of Thrones" poo poo playing out between various decades with NOS parts.

Brass-era is basically pre-WWI, when brass was primarily used for brightwork. After the war, most manufacturers moved to nickel plating and then chrome plating in the late '30s.

Exactly this. I was a bit over-stating when the brass-era ends, but pre-WWII and particularly extinct-marque-luxury-restoration is a weird part of the hobby. Almost all of the people restoring those sort of cars are older and not on the internet or savvy with computers. Parts are available, but generally REALLY expensive (I know what I got,) and hard to track down since you’re essentially following word-of-mouth trails. It takes a LOT of legwork to track down say, a new headlight bucket or piece of trim, and then additional hurdles to get them to actually sell it to you.

Thanks my phone was not being nice.

I must dig deeper into the Irish used car scene as there are lots of ruined JDMs from the early 2000s when it was all the rage to import literally anything on four wheels from Japan.

The fuel pump died in 1992 so it sat in a barn until last year. Then they buffed it.

Or something close to that.
