At the very least people should accept that a new referendum is necessary, when the government has proven itself completely incompetent in implementing the single most important policy change of your entire country.

I think calling it the second referendum is giving too much credit the joke of a referendum all UK politics has been based around for a little over two years a little too much credit. They should b calling it a real referendum or the first referendum or something.

Re-reading your post, you never actually used the word "second." Good show.

a) muslims are not all terrorists and ffs we’re from northern ireland we should know what “they’re all terrorists” feels like
b) turkey isn’t joining the eu any time soon anyway

but no avail. at some point you gotta just stop talking politics for the sake of your relationship

the studio I rent a desk in is run by a bunch of belgians who absolutely refuse to engage with what is happening. I have a long standing bet with them, five pints apiece, that "brexit will happen". They're my friends, and after May's speech I felt a bit like an rear end in a top hat so I messaged them to say that I never wanted to win the bet. This isn't just beer for you, I say. You're europeans, business owners. You've got a real stake in this. They reply with crowing over the amount of signatures on that petition and ribbing me for wanting to back out of the bet.

The hot, runny NHS poo poo that so many people swallowed...mate. The image of right wing ideologues like mogg desperately petitioning for billions of pounds to be injected into nationalised healthcare again and again only to be repeatedly stymied by hateful brussels bureaucrats demanding their tithes...we're not living in the same world. we're not in the same loving dimension. it's wild.

Talking about the prime minister's Brexit deal, Conservative MP Tim Louhgton says "a lot still hinges on getting the DUP on side".

"This is squeaky bum time. This is the last chance saloon to get Brexit through.

"We are going to have to hold our nose and vote for this deal."

When asked if Theresa May promising to resign would get her deal passed he replies, "sadly, it would help".

Now is the time to pry Brexit from the lamb's jaw. The EU is the bakery and we have only a few days left to become butter-and-egg men. We've got to pull the leeks out of our caps and vote for a Brexit deal that works for Britain or we will risk becoming badgers locked out of the garden shed.
