Also the good thing about Squaddie dungeons is that they don't give you any sass.

Can someone list five dungeons that aren't impossible for squadrons to handle the mechs? I haven't touched them since I tried to heal Halatali while leveling WHM and found the bosses utterly impossible.

It'll get you there, but it's a miserable experience the whole time.

I can stomach it now and then, but it makes palace of the dead and toto rak in levelling roulette fun by comparison.

Really? Squadrons have some annoying parts but the NPCs are so overtuned that it feels like runs go much faster on average. All important mechanics target you so there's no pubbies to mess it up. The only real annoying one from memory was Brayflox because the AI isn't capable of not standing in bad on their own and repositioning them is a nightmare. AI tank is a little bad at picking things up, but they're not a primadonna, and the healer is one of the least honest motherfuckers around.

Plus you can go at your own pace and have no queues. I'll take that over waiting 15 minutes to get a Totorak.

The Great Twist
My average LLDR run, outside of shitters like Stone Vigil, is like 20-22 minutes. Stone Vigil usually comes in at like 25+, which is more but not egregiously so. Just random DF people so I'm not stacking the group with people I know are awake. I don't find squadrons, even when functional, that much faster.

And it's completely subjective, but I find every step of the way is just miserable. It's more functional if I tank, but it's so simple to dungeon spam levelling for them, especially 51+. I'm not sure why, just nothing works properly when I'm running squadron stuff. Tanks can't hold threat, archer dps is nothing special, healer is just asleep half the time. And some of the dungeons are probably literally impossible as dps, which to me would be the whole reason to run AI squads. It's so tedious and annoying to work around their limitations, pf is more palatable for me.

Like I say, it's subjective, but for me the cons are way higher than skipping queues.

Is there a good squad dungeon to run from 60-70 or is it just not worth it at that point?

My only 70 is RDM and I'm gonna play that for 4.2+ MSQ stuff. I'll be leveling DRK as well but that's a lower priority because I pretty much just started so it'll be a while :v:

I think the only dungeons in range are Sohm Al and The Vault, which at least should be functional for them.

So you'd have to just spam whatever's highest you can access. I haven't run either of them with squads though.

In the full Shadowbringers trailer, who's the one saying "become what you must; become the Warrior of Darkness" by the end? I tried watching the one with JP voices and it sounded like Akira Ishida, who voices Elidibus? I'm not so sure.

Halatali, Toto-Rak, Brayflox, Stone Vigil are easy ones. I ran the fifth ages ago but it might have been Sohm Al.

Avoid Pharos Sirius and WP Hard. Both have bosses that are extremely frustrating to have their mechanics targeting you 100% of the time, and depending on your job you squad will be hard pressed to keep you alive.

Oxyclean
Sep 23, 2007

If I'm remembering correctly, Last boss of WP Hard in Squadron is easier if you just do it wrong don't reposition. I think you need to nuke all banners, but it's way easier to manage then the proper strategy.

But I think in general none of the Hard dungeons are worth it for EXP.

I have the same problem, tanks can't pick up aggro and healers will often just stand there and let me die to the mobs that run past the tank to attack me

We think it's an NPC related to the Crystal Tower series of 24-man raids. I say "related", rather than "involved" because the circumstances of that person's existence allows for a lot of "yes, but not really because", and that's before things are further compounded upon by this whole shard-hopping stuff.

And then there's the crystal leprosy going on, which is bound to be all kinds of its own weirdness.

The Great Twist
I'm curious what sort of skill changes will come. RDM, despite being on the simple side, and SAM especially feel like complete packages rotation wise. A lot of people want an amount of group utility for SAM which is a fair request, but I don't know how that will get shoehorned in.

Looking forward for whatever tidbits pop out in May for sure, although I doubt we'll see the full picture until launch.

I really like RDM for its simplicity and the fact that I'm not stuck chasing a timer like BLM is. I'd hope any changes keep that aspect to the class. Only thing I'd really wanna see is an ice and water spell so that we round out getting all the elements.

I really appreciate how well SAM flows. At first its combos and multiple resource systems seemed odd to me, but in practice everything fits together really well. I never really feel like I'm going out of my way to keep up my DoT or anything--it feels like a natural consequence of how I want to use my abilities already.
