Growth in the UK economy has almost “ground to halt” amid the ongoing uncertainty over Brexit, businesses have warned. Meanwhile the lack of clarity over the UK’s future relationship with the EU is also continuing to weigh on potential investors in both the manufacturing and services sector, according to research. It comes after a poll of 7,000 companies by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) found that business was “hitting the brakes” because of the uncertainty. ‘Sharp slowdown’ The BCC said its study – covering the first three months of the year – should serve as a “clear warning” that the ongoing impasse was contributing to a “sharp slowdown” in the UK’s economy. “These are some of the weakest figures we’ve seen in nearly a decade and that’s no coincidence,” said BCC director general Dr Adam Marshall. “The prospect of a messy and disorderly exit from the EU is weighing heavily on the UK economy and must still be avoided.” In a separate report, Goldman Sachs suggested nearly 2.5 per cent had been shaved off the UK’s gross domestic product (GDP) since the 2016 referendum.

V. Illych L. posted:if parliament just voted to revoke it would set the country on fire, and for good reason Bzzzzt, wrong. It was never legally binding. It would be bad optics to deny ~~the will of the people~~ regardless of what the actual current will of the people is, but it's not overturning a democratic decision, it's overruling an advisory decision based on new information (aka how badly we'd get hosed by it).

In the United Kingdom, TMNT was originally released under the name Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles (TMHT). This was due to the controversy surrounding ninjas and related weapons such as nunchaku at the time.[23]
