You can't divorce the real world costs of the ships from, because they will influence the perception of the buyer. But its not SUDDENLY... Way back when they first started talking about the Corsair it was said that the armor was thin, but had a decent weapons load. Buccaneer is 110. Cutlass is 100.

That's exactly my point Beet. Thus far there is nothing with the Corsair that hasn't been at least planned, not present. CIG said the corsair will be crude, lower missile count, an additional turret and poor armor... Maybe I'm missing what the folks are complaining about?

The obvious stupidity of you asking "what did they promise though" in the same post where you copy/paste their sales pitch aside, a quick google seems to say that people are upset at the fact that Drake ships are now being described as having "paper-thin" armor, despite that not having been part of description of Drake ships, combined with frustration that the Q&A and descriptions don't give any indication of what the ship is going to perform like in comparison with its competitors. Which, like I said, is a legitimate concern considering that CIG often completely fucks poo poo like that up.

Have we devolved into discussing the technicalities of a "Drake" ship, a fake corporation in a fake game referenced in inane lore written by the world's stupidest non-game developer? I'll say one thing for Chris Roberts - there's no smoke bomb too small that when he throws it down, it's fully loving effective and people argue the minutia instead of realizing he's a thief getting away with our wallets.

Sure, it might be in the small print, and saying so up front would have a chilling effect, but they're going to get a bit of a shock if they release a pup.
