They still killed it. Sounded fantastic.

Nice. Did they do Eraser? That's one of the songs I remember being hella good live, and the crowd going apeshit at the chorus part. e: and yeah isn't Peter like close to 50 now? Fenrir fucked around with this message at 20:04 on Apr 6, 2019 |

If we're talkin bout ATG ripoffs As Blood Runs Black's first album is literally Slaughter of the Soul with breakdowns, and that rules extremely hard. I'm sure you all know the name from years ago and skipped over it in deathcore's heyday but I would seriously give this a chance, it's one of the best dxc albums. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Quoo-cVeOKU Nazzadan fucked around with this message at 18:05 on Apr 6, 2019 |

We're in this weird timeline where ATG released SOTS which heavily inspired metalcore bands a few years later, which heavily inspired deathcore bands after that, and now there are melodeath bands playing melodeath inspired by metalcore/deathcore that was inspired by ATG like Light This City.

Spanish Manlove posted:A lot of it is just shamelessly rips off At the Gates Yeah Slaughter of the Soul's a great album and all but it gets a little boring to listen to three dozen bands write the same album. Melodeath is kind of weird, it's a real broad category for different sounding bands. A lot of it does sound like thrash metal with power choruses but like Kalmah or Insomnium or Swallow the Sun sound nothing like that. Genre boundaries are weird. I mean, is Sepultura a thrash metal band or a death metal band? I honestly couldn't tell you.
