Thread for posting examples of when your immersion was ruined by badly faked computer/tech stuff in a movie or TV show. From BBC show Spooks, using a slide show to scan for microphones: https://giant.gfycat.com/RemarkableBleakApatosaur.webm From Dutch show Vuurzee, where the browser history is referring to stuff on the local machine: Bonus incorrect resolution on laptop. That's realistic though.:

And after they put all that effort into getting the Unix System right.

Basically any time they try to show an IP address. Apparently, in the movie industry, "IP address" is synonymous with "free artistic license to put random numbers and symbols on the screen."

Apparently, in the movie industry, "IP address" is synonymous with "free artistic license to put random numbers and symbols on the screen." i had a quick look around but i was too lazy to chase it down. I'm pretty sure in the opening episode of Mr. Robot they used and IP address with the 4th octet as 3xx. There's discussion (because of course) of a scene where an incorrect IP address is written on a piece of paper, but its a different scene than the one I remember. Anyway, yeah, ... same
