I don't know if pfSense ships with netgraph modules, but if it does you can use ng_bridge(4) and ng_ether(4) to do switching (plus, there's ng_netflow if you need that). Alternatively, netmap can be used to create a vale(4) software switch that can easily do +70Gbps on relatively inexpensive hardware.

I'm mostly using Xen's built in Virtual Switching feature, but yeah thanks for suggesting netgraph!

It's curious that netgraph dates back to FreeBSD 3.4 and yet still has legitimate uses; it's the basis for the bluetooth implementation in FreeBSD, it gets used for a GNS-alike based on FreeBSD called IMUNES, provides excellent vnet/vimage-capable jail IPC, and is the basis for mpd5 (which can do lots of neat stuff like in-kernel multi-link ppp).
Plus, it's super-great for prototyping network protocols on.

I'm not where it's handy to access my home router right now, but pfSense has a ton of plugins available, so I'm willing to bet it's there.

I have been amused by how many places I've been where official policy is both "don't click on links or attachments in email" and then doing your job requires clicking on links or attachments in official email. *sigh*

HR and Payroll departments are notorious for this. Which is why they and the CEO are the ones who get targeted and owned the most.

Well, they also get targeted most because they're the ones that have control over either money or valuable personal information.

Unless you're specifically targeting that company for something only they have, the other departments aren't really useful as anything other than a point of entry.

Yeah, but HR gets special mention since a big part of their job is "open and look at the Word documents sent from randos over email a lot."

Payroll's job is "open a bunch of Office documents sent by the people who can fire or have you fired a lot."

I'm always hesitant to do this. One of the places I worked they couldn't see the answers to your questions, they had to type them in. So doing anything funny ended up being 5 minutes of trying to get them to enter it correctly.

When the system was first implemented it was case sensitive as well, that was super fun.

Last time I needed to give someone one of those answers, I weirded the poor call center agent right out. "My eldest nephew's name is a 32-character string, which I will now read to you. Please assume all letters are lowercase unless I specifically say they're capital. g as in golf, capital Q as in Quebec, lowercase d as in delta," and so on, and on, and on... and she sounded extremely surprised when it worked.
