What attitude problem?
I really like Pup but that stupid gang chorus of rolling with the riff raff gets in my head whenever I hear them and annoys me to no end.

It’s weird that the entirety of music writer twitter seems to adore a pop punk band but they are extremely good at what they do.

Look on the bright side: Is at least way more tolerable than when people lost their collective poo poo with Broken Social Scene and made them critical darlings because say what you want about the guys from PUP, they certainly don't elicit as much of that strange, irrational feeling of wanting to punch the poo poo out of them.

why the gently caress aren't music twitter dumbasses into bands that sound like no trend and brainbombs? this is really pissing me off

The Dream is Over had a great story to go along with the album so writers liked writing about it. PUP is pop-punk but they don't really take much influence from uncool pop-punk like Fat Wreck Chords or Green Day or Blink 182. They got enough of an edge/minor key/discordant songs that they aren't "sugary sweet" but it's still mostly harmonies and major key songs. It's a perfect combo for them to be a band that music writers like.

I don't now if this is sincere or not, but the number of music writers that like these noisier bands is definitely way higher than the population at large. Just have to find some writers you like!

You guys seem to be interpreting my comment as negative. I like PUP and it’s cool that they’re hyped. I just think it’s odd since they play a (rightfully) much-maligned genre of music.

Personally, I think if you're able to appeal to people who listen to a shitload of music as part of their job you're probably doing something right.

Is PUP the band with some kids from Stanger Things in their videos? Because remember watching about half of one posted here before I had to turn it off ... just seems like whiny epifat garbage to me. Not liking something isn't an interesting opinion, but I feel compelled to speak out

You've posted two different ends of the pop-punk line. It's a weird genre, for sure.

I've never heard that first one, but I get a good Exploding Hearts vibe from them.
