Dewback Flame Lizard seems like a good time. 2 Speed forward + big base twice then flames. I think Snowtroopers are out of a job.

Not much more expensive than a loaded elite infantry unit, packs a decent punch, and between cover 2 (with pilot) and armor 2 it does require a bit of a commitment to dislodge. Thank you for sharing! And the table looks really nice.

FFG is selling a con exclusinve Vader model at Star Wars Celebration, but between VIP badges, who get in to the hall early and sales to other exhibitors, they sold out for today before the hall even opened to regular badge holders. Good work FFG. I imagine the same thing will happen tomorrow when I'm going.

Apparently, FFG is giving away a Sabine pin with a $30 purchase, so VIP badge holders are buying Vader to get the pin, then dumping the model on eBay. Id be fine with that if they held some back for standard badge holders when the hall opened.

Fuckin lol at a couple already on ebay for $100+. I told myself I'd maybe grab one if they were like 30 bucks or less since Vader is by far and away my favorite unit in spite of not loving the promo sculpt, but I guess that was a little delusional.

Con exclusive product is always a shitshow. It seems that most of the people that can buy it are scalpers. That's why I've become a fan of Wyrd and Privateer's method. You can still buy the models on their site, just only on days when the con is going on.

There was never any doubt in my mind that we would see tge Droid tank pretty drat quickly, and the B-2 Droids look good. I just can't decide if I like the clone tank of not. I just keep seeing it as a flying helmet and I dunno if that is a good thing.

I’m playing in the narrative event at NoVa, which is the first time I’ve played outside my house with one or two friends. Because it’s a narrative and not a competitive event what kind of janky fun stuff could I include in my list? I’m playing Imperials. The format is a weird escalation thing - no commanders or operatives in the first 3 rounds (but you make one unit leader a commander and they can gain force powers as the event progresses), then the 4th round is two players to a side and each player brings one commander or operative. Point values for the rounds are 320/500/800/1150. I’m not interested in doing a super suppression list or having 6 snipers or anything unfun like that. Although dropping sabs into the enemy deployment zone turn 1 would be pretty hilarious.

Apparently I play this game now? I've got: Luke Leia Sabine 3x Troopers AT-RT The Specialist box (so one Commander, Comms Specialist, Medical Droid, Astromech Droid) Where to now? I've seen the high-end competitive lists which are mostly Troopers with Z-6 spam and Luke, and I'd rather have a fun variety. The X-34 looks kinda cool.

The meta is in a weird place right now, shifting to accommodate tauntauns and dewbacks, and reacting to lists that are built to handle tauntauns and dewbacks. I’d recommend a box or two of rebel veterans (they’re corps units who are superior to vanilla rebel troopers), pathfinders (snipers get work done), and tauntauns (the new hotness). And if you do podcasts, the Notorious Scoundrels is one on competitive play. Fifth Trooper a little less so.
