But even from the beginning, you could just make a different move before the hard shot you needed to make, and get a different result. The seed thing only mattered if you kept performing the exact same sequence of actions.

There's been a big debate over that since easy difficulty modes are actually difficult to make and take time and effort that smaller developers often don't have, but it's almost always accepted that using cheat codes, or a 'game reviewer mode' if we're getting particularly condescending, is more than acceptable if it means a reviewer can actually finish the whole game in time for the deadline and give a more complete opinion. Hell, the whole reason cheat codes and debug modes exist in the first place was for the benefit of beta testers and reviewers.

That said, it has come out of a few videos of people whose job it is to play and review games being worse at them than your tech-illiterate grandmother.
