I had surgery Tuesday, and my anesthesiologist was an rear end in a top hat. I don’t know what his name was, so I am going to say... Potatodash Shittickler.

Had a patient a few weeks ago named Kazuko Clopton. I couldn't help wondering if her maiden name is Clopton or if she married into the Clopton family.

I love the non-white first name + seriously white surname combo. I know a young mixed race girl with a Korean first name and the surname Eddlebuttel.

I had a Chinese-French math professor in college named Jean-Louis Tu. Similar concept of the first and last names not really going together.

I kind of love it, since it means that all kinds of cultural barriers are breaking down and people are starting relationships with other people who're not of their own race or culture :3: Sure, it might not be seen as going together now, but who knows, maybe in 10-20 years Jean-Louis Tu might be the new John Smith.

Isn't it equally possible that that's just his Western name, a lot of Chinese people who are in some sort of contact with the West pick one. Truth be told, I would pick something cooler than Jean-Louis

One of my Canadian-Chinese students has actually forgotten her Chinese name. She's six and has been going by a Spanish name most of her life, and doesn't speak Chinese at home.
