4) Bring back the dinger machine. I really wanna know what calculations OOTP is doing under the hood to make Stroman think he's worth a Scherzer++ contract.

2020 MLB Season 90-72, .556, 2nd Place, NL East Wild Card game vs Philadelphia Phillies Holy hell, was that a second half. We ran off ten straight right after the ASB, and never looked back. Unfortunately, we suffered a rash of injuries later in the summer, including Byron Buxton's annual serious injury (concussion), Nick Gordon's broken foot halting a great season, and backup 2B Isan Diaz missing time with a bad thumb. Before that, we looked like we were about to chase down the Mets for first place! Our pitching was consistently excellent. Lucas Sims won the ERA title, with Archer close behind. Sean Doolittle was one of the best closers in the league, and got solid backup from the rest of the bullpen. We finished 1st in ERA, 5th in bullpen, 1st in runs allowed, and held our opponents to a .212 average. That's insane, even for a pitcher's park. Best news: Sixto Sanchez has the look of an ace. He worked out of the pen for a few months, then came in as a starter on a pitch count. 101 k's in only 88 IP, with a 2.23 ERA and only 26 walks. Our hitting was...inconsistent. Hamamura was brilliant as advertised (286/389/547), and we got quality seasons from Ryan McMahon at 3B (3.5 WAR) and Max Kepler in LF (3.9 WAR). We also got quality work from Nick Gordon, who is proving to be an excellent MLB 2B. The rest of the hitters were...meh. Buxton never really got it started, same with Peters. Most surprising was Cube Catcher...he only hit 257/293/329, and though he put up 1.3 WAR, that was less than his backup, who put up 1.5 WAR in only 191 ABs. Randall Grichuck was an extremely useful addition, and clubbed the ball for us in the second half. Good news on the prospects front: Pete hit on both Carlos Perez and Paullo Schwab; Perez enters as the #6 prospect, Schwab as #5. Spencer Jones found his groove in rookie ball this year, and Daniel Cerda hit well in A. Cerda is...declining, though, which is disappointing. Will run playoffs this afternoon! gently caress the Phillies and their huge payroll, I say. Note: Doolittle signed an incredibly reasonable $7m/1yr extension, with two $7m team options. Also, holy hell, Tampa Bay. Good god. League Website Here. bewbies fucked around with this message at 16:28 on Apr 12, 2019 |

He's probably "greedy" and he's a pretty solid SP...he was better for the Twins than he was with us. He definitely won't get that kind of money but I could see him getting like 6/90 or something along those lines.

Game log won't load, so I'm assuming Buxton's third time in base was due to Hoskins' error caused by Buxton's superhuman speed. Also dear God Sims be okay.

2020 World Series: Tampa Bay Rays vs Miami Marlins A series dubbed "The Battle of I-75" "Florida Man (birthday)" and "Who...wait...what?" kicks off today in Tampa Bay. This is a huge challenge. The Rays are built in a very similar way to the Marlins, but are better in practically every respect. They get on base at a ridiculous rate (.350 team OBP), have a good rotation, a great bullpen, and elite defense. This landed them the most regular season wins in baseball history: 118. This included an absolutely ripping September (15-1) and a stroll through the playoffs. Their lineup is built around the power/OBP combo of Matt Duffy and Tommy Pham, with Willy Adames and Kevin Kiermaier chipping in with elite defense and solid bats. Their pitching staff is normally anchored by superstar Blake Snell, but fortunately for us, he's out for the year. Even without big blake, they can bring an elite combo of Yonny Chirinios and Brent Honeywell, backed up by K-happy bullpen. They get on base, they don't walk many batters, they hit for power, and they keep the ball in the park. Good luck, ya'll. Gonna need it. bewbies fucked around with this message at 18:50 on Apr 13, 2019 |

We're gonna die. Also RIP MLB TV ratings. No one is gonna watch this thing. Joe Buck will come into work already hammered. Ken Rosenthal will try to generate interest by wrestling an alligator on the warning track. Attendance will be so low Jeets will he charging the ushers for being there.

I bet it will be a big deal in Japan thanks to Marlins star first baseman Kikuji Hamamura. Who we need a nickname for. He's 6' 1", 225, from Kashima. He walks a lot and hits a lot of doubles. He's pretty bad with the glove.
