Took a lady friend out to dinner the other day who doesnt care about money or possessions. Showed her the massaging seats and the little gadgets and soon she was begging me to let her drive it home on the way back from dinner. It was snowing and the tires on it suck in slick conditions and shes never had a rwd. Told her id let her drive it all the way up to her sisters Rental condo in the mountains if she got us a free weekend up there. Best segway ever. The car is growing on me at a rapid rate. I never before would cared if I had automatic boot lids, or soft close features, or heated steering wheels, or AC/ massaging seats, or radar cruise control. But like with smart phones you wonder how you lived with out them. Its a weird thought tho because most new luxury cars have all this poo poo but to think in 2007 having all this would have been insane. Having to fill it up nearly every two days is a tad tiring. I cant see business men putting up with it. Then again, they probably just had the lot attendant in their office building do it. Preoptopus fucked around with this message at 23:26 on Apr 13, 2019 |

The Mazda system in my wife's CX5 is adjustable. 4 bars is long long distances for uncrowded highways, and yes, I had to adjust to it, because just as I was hitting the indicator to pass, it'd slow me down. 3 bars for normal New England non-peak hour highways, and 2 bars for rush-hour Rt 24 or Rt 3. 1 bar for Boston.

Having driven Subaru's version of it in Chicago traffic, you pretty much have to set it to "Audi" following distance and it works great. I can see the other settings being better on less congested highways but if you give too much it'll start freaking out as other cars fill the gap in front of you.

I realized half the stress of being stuck in traffic is the stop and go. For the car to just do it is like a breath of fresh air. I have no reference point since this is the first and only one I have ever used, but it works extremely well. Ive noticed as the days get warmer the noise from the ABC system having a bad dampner is almost gone. It seams 68 degrees ambient temp is the magic number. Roomates back in jail so im being conservative with money in case I have to cover the whole of rent so still havent yet had a chance for a shop with STAR access to hook up to it. Ok so finally had the windshield changed here is the story. As said before It was arranged I was to be at Mercedes of Denver the 26th of april at 1030. The week before a safelite guy came out to my work to make sure they had the right windshield. That morning I get a call from another safelite guy. "Hey so I have a lot of glass to put in today Ill be at the dealer from 2 to 5. Im like holdon. The whole point was so they can calibrate the camera. My appointment is at 10 please be there. He realized I was right and altered his schedule. I show up at the dealer who has no idea whats going on. The sales person clearly saw I wasnt rich and immediatly asked how I will be paying for the windshield. Im like im not, the dealership I bought this from is. Hes like well I need proof cause its a very expensive windshield. (i know it is) Your not putting it in i tell him, safelite is. So then why are you here he asks me. Cause you have to calibrate the camera i tell him and the other service writer laughs cause clearly im dealing with the idiot of the lot. He gets all mad because his 2800 dollar ticket just turned into 200 and he looses all interest in helping me. Well I dont know anything about this and your gonna have to pay for the callibration he tells me and the dealer you bought it from will have to reimburse you. Ill call them i told him and then asked for my loaner car I was assured I would get. Yea they are all booked out the guy tells me and Im like ugh i dont think so. He does some digging and in a relenting tone tells me that indeed I had one reserved. 2019 C300. I dont complain. I leave and start calling the OG dealer. Getting nowhere. I finally get to the manager who keeps telling me how many customers he has in front of him and i give him the number and name of the service advisor at Mercedes. 3 hours later I get a text that the car is ready however I am responsible for the callibration as the service advisor could not get in touch with the other dealer. It gets to the point where I was on the phone litterally telling the receptionist to pull this dude out of his office and talk to dude. Mercedes advisor gets the phone, takes down an email and says im free to go. He takes me out to an S class witha big dent in it and my heart sinks. Then I notice the 550 on the back and relax as i realize how big of a dumb rear end the dude is. This isnt my car I tell him and he starts back peddling after treeting me like poo poo. While waiting for my car I watched the advisors loose 3 different customer cars. gently caress that place. Anyway the silver lining was that the only thing the tech found was my ball joints had some play which i knew about. Said nothing of the ABC wine. Either they dont wanna gently caress with it, or knew I wouldnt bite. Oh well.

JFC, dealerships are the worst. Currently dealing with trying to get my car fixed after taking it to the local Toyota dealership for a transmission service, and it somehow magically gets a crack in the radiator after they touch it and now they don't want to be responsible for it. Going to talk to the service manager in person tomorrow should be exactly like the experience you had, dealing with a bunch of idiots I can't wait.

Not that it helps you now, but of the local MB dealers, I am of the opinion that MB Littleton and MB Loveland are the easiest to deal with. I bought a car from Loveland, and I had said car serviced at Littleton, and both generally had their poo poo together. Littleton is also a Renntech & Weistec dealer so there's that.

Thinking of selling the BMW. It would go to a co worker who needs a car. 3000 is fair for 83k hed be the 3rd owner. only catch its a salavge title. OR, take out a 100 day loan pimp it out, (coilover slam and some gaudy gold deep dishes or something) and sell to some kid for 8 and not im looking at 2jz s gently caress Preoptopus fucked around with this message at 08:07 on May 12, 2019 |

Don稚 take out a loan to bet on being able to rip off an idiot, that痴 a risk not worth taking. Especially since it relies on them being able to come up with 8k without a loan, unless scummy companies charging 30% on a salvage title car is a thing.

22 Eargesplitten posted:unless scummy companies charging 30% on a salvage title car is a thing. There's a "dealer" on Facebook Marketplace locally that does almost that. The good thing is every car they list includes the VIN, and Google so far has always turned up salvage auction photos when I got bored and looked (and they've always been relatively mild wrecks, just written off because the cars are usually 8-12 years old and not worth a whole lot), but they want 10 references, a year's worth of bank statements, no self employment, etc etc etc. And they want 25% APR to finance you in-house. I'd actually consider buying a car from them for cash, more because it's so easy to find the auction photos, they're up front about them buying salvage cars and fixing them, and they're pretty reasonably priced for what they are (and claim repair photos are available). But you know they're bending people over on financing, and probably repoing half of the cars they finance. randomidiot fucked around with this message at 07:51 on May 13, 2019 |

That's odd, IIRC the capacity is 9.5L so if you meant quarts it should actually be slightly underfilled by about half a quart. What does it say when you do the oil level on the dash? And yeah, mine is black/black and it gets hot. Just wait until you see how worthless the rear defrost is if you ever have it frosted over. It does get compliments. My favorite one was at a gas station. A lady who was in a Escalade walks over and looks at the badge and says "Wow, a S600. My husband owns a 760i. We need more V12s on the road." Or you get the random "does that really have a V12 under the hood?" and blow their mind by replying "yep, and two turbos."
