SA still spreads by word of mouth, there's a real demand for a civilized place for discussion which isn't 100% Nazi Gamers and/or Influencers Influencing and other SoMe bullshittery. A discussion... "forum", if you will, like those of the ancient Romans!

Seeing young'uns realize how fun a properly modded message board is compared to Reddit warms my heart.

I think one of the biggest indicators of how much this place has changed is the existence of this thread tbh, like a decade ago this kind of reminiscing would be considered Caring About Things and that would get you ran out of town on a rail

Remember the one where someone shopped the diarrhea arc to be like multi color and added the text "taste the rainbow"? Ah memories.

Friend, I've transcended caring about people caring about things so far that I'm incapable of even caring if people care.

I think I spent the last bit of care I have caring enough to actually type this post. There is no more care in my world.

This is true bliss.

Yes.

She also developed gestational diabetes despite being told 100+ times to change her diet and stop eating deli meats while pregnant. Her response was "I'll keep eating it until I see the doctor and check."

There's no way they don't spend $10k+ once Star Wars Land opens at Disney to buy all the exclusive new toys. The high end "make your own lightsabers" are probably going to be $200-300.

Someone in the CineD genchat made a bad joke about Tim Curry (currently wheelchairbound due to a stroke) and people pointed out how remarkably in bad taste that was.

I figure a few years ago it would have started a bad pun line if posts and maybe a photoshop thread so quite a change. I guess it's because we're not all invincible teens and young adults.

I could be wrong but if the behavior is a high level illegal activity I think it quits being a prank.

A prank is putting that stuff that turns to jello when you pee on it in a toilet. A prank is filling a cubicle with packing peanuts with the agreement that the boss won't give the person poo poo for taking a couple hours to clean up the mess. A prank is a fundamentally harmless thing that will only cost somebody a bit of time and embarrassment.

Sending a literal loving murder squad to somebody's house is not a prank.

Was a recent story where a poster was considering cutting off their friends because they 'prank' kidnapped him, holding him up with a shotgun while wearing masks and putting a bag on his head then driving for twenty minutes in silence, then pulling it off and going 'Surprise!' at a cafe.

Also fake pregnancy scares.

I saw mods at another forum start threatening to hand out bans over people making incredibly milquetoast puns and jokes about the issue, and I'm glad SA isn't going there because it's a pretty extreme reaction to people having fun with a building burning down with no deaths or even injuries

I never answered this before because I expected that the reason would be too audacious for belief and that the thread would be locked, but what the heck. I want to have a kid because I believe that the combined genetic heritage of myself and my husband is too valuable to waste, and that we will be improving our society and our world by our combined genetic heritage. It has too great a potential to just pass it by. I told my husband about five years ago that I decided we should have kids and he said he was fine with that. He is pretty excited now.
