Actually, yeah that works perfectly. It's as easy as updating on_actions/00_on_actions.txt with the same bit that is in 01_planet_destruction.txt:

code:
# Planet has been terraformed
# This = Planet
# From = Terraforming country
on_terraforming_complete = {
        events = {
                action.68
                syndaw.1320 # Planet of the Mechs achievement check
                distar.197
                planet_destruction.600 # frag holy world
        }
}
planet_destruction.600 already checks to see if it's a holy world, so it'll only fire when relevant.

A tip about pop employment. Generally, you should be thinking of your clerks as being "underemployed" and be providing more specialist jobs if you have some clerks.

Also, hot drat do I love shared burdens. At the start of the game you can roll with Alloy, Alloy, Monument on your home world, and then on the colonies be rocking more alloy, labs or civilian industry without hitting amenity or CG limits too badly.

Yeah I'll just block clerks altogether a lot of the times unless I'm playing some minmaxed fanatic xenophile corporate tradelord or just need something for overflow pops to do while I build proper jobs for them.

Not really related, but it would be cool if you could put a research station around a ruined megastructure and scrape some valuable science out of it.

I cant believe that this isnt already a thing. I would love it if they gave the game more of that "exploring space and the unknown" feel and let you put a science station all sorts of places.

Hopefully a simple question...

Fairly new to the game, playing as a megacorp, and I'm in late game (nearing 2500)

A fallen empire awoke a long time ago, beat them back. The other fallen empire woke up and joined my federation. We've declared war on the first FE. It's going well, and I just cleared out a few of their systems. All game long when this has happened, I think I've always been liberating federation territory that was previously taken. So after a few moments, control would revert back to the original owner.

For two packed systems, though, they were previously owned by a non federation member who settled their war decades ago. So now these systems are staying as mine, and it's blowing me past the admin cap with poorly built garbage.

Is there any way I can get rid of these planets? A four of these are habitats, two are regular planets. My three planets are already packed full, so I have nowhere to put the pops. I don't know what if anything I can do.

You can get 10 Society research for a shielded world (also shielded habitats), which is what made me think of it.

Sure, destroying a planet is impressive, but turning it into science? That's the way to go.

You can spin a sector off as a vassal, or just trade those systems away to a neighbour who might want them.

But the correct answer is to ignore the admin cap, you're not supposed to stay under it. Tear down the garbage and build better stuff in it's place.

Please ignore the admin cap.

That aside, you can gift planets and systems to people in the trade screen. I think they need to be adjacent to their territory though, it's a bit opaque.

If you mouse over the admin cap icon on the top bar it will tell you exactly what the penalties are, you'd have to decide that for yourself.

But generally, no, it's nothing to worry about. If you're already beating up AEs, then it's almost certainly nothing to worry about.

lol not for those of use with 5 year old laptops but luckily there are some good guides out there to double your FPS at minimum. The most :psyduck: of them all? Don't launch the game through steam. Do it from the Stellaris sub-folder. Best theory that I've read? Has nothing to do with the overlay -- it has to do with Valve making Steam take way too high of a priority too often on re: CPU core threads. Thus, Windows has a problem assigning tasks correctly and the game starts freezing and skipping. Happens with other games too that require frequent calculations that increase exponentially.

Have you got a link? My desktop is a few years old but relatively beefy and Stellaris runs like rear end. I can run other Paradox titles just fine. Some lategame slowdown perhaps but not bordering on unplayable like Stellaris is.

I generally want to see my highest-level techs completing in about 4 years unless I'm deliberately focusing on (or ignoring) research. Once techs start costing more than that, it's time to build more labs.

A tech-focused empire can go much faster than this, of course. And my last run, a warrior culture, got most of its research by scanning debris. I don't think I built a single lab until like 2350.

Slightly confused about something. I had the Great Khan event, became his satropy and now he's dead and I'm independent again. He's left behind an empire adjacent to mine called "Belmacosa Successor Khanate", whom I've been warring with and taking their systems. All good. But at some point during my enslavement it seems the Khan also took a system right in the middle of my empire. It is shown as being owned by "Belmacosa Star Republic". As far as I know they have no other systems.

The confusing thing is Belmacosa Star Republic does not show up on the diplomacy screen, so I can't make a claim on this system to bring it back into my empire. I have invaded it and now control the planet within the system but I can't actually reclaim the system for my empire. I've tried seeing if the claim option is under the diplomacy screen for Belmacosa Successor Khanate but it's not.

Who are these Belmacosa Star Republic pricks and why can't I take back this system? It's really annoying having this blob in the middle of my empire that's not mine, and it's actually at a chokepoint too so tons of my trade is passing through it.
