For once, the Modelling of all weapons as individuals is working for me! Though Batman here feels confident enough to make a surface attack. For the love of.... This is a one shot kill. Escorts still seem broken, I'm taking these guys off line. Guam tax! Somehow, it gets worse with the addition of Escorts. Allied planes continue to fall from the skies with worrying ease. I have to hope that sub kill I real.

If the game goes into 1946 do the Allies get jets? The Gloster Meteor was a thing by then.

12 April 1945 USS Mannert L. Abele, a radar picket destroyer off Okinawa, sinks after being hit by a standard kamikaze and an Ohka. A series of major air attacks also sinks an LCS and forces five other ships (of 22 total hit) to withdraw from the operational area.

A strike on my raiders is butchered. They catch my men with their pants down for once. All in all, this screen could have looked worse. I spend most of my turn sending damaged ships north and the carrier south.

Crack open a tin of Tuna. The I-115 trades her life for a tanker. Just a sub day apparently! The tanker was an acceptable trade.

So we *do* get kamikazes in this timeline, they're just sub captains.

Is there a way for us to tell what the supply situation is for the home islands? It would be interesting to see what's it's been like over the many months and if we're headed for ruin Edit: I know we're headed to ruin, I mean, is this the month where we suddenly run out of having any surplus supplies

Why is a tanker an acceptable trade for a sub?
|
# ? Apr 15, 2019 05:24 |

Not having enough tankers really limits your movements.
|
# ? Apr 15, 2019 07:20 |

Also, tankers are considerably harder to replace

OTOH that tanker was on borrowed time. Starting from a point where reasonably, it was lost 12-18 months ago, ans the subs should be unstoppable right now, trading a "ah we had a good run" tanker for a "holy poo poo we sank a" sub isn't so bad But yeah I also appreciate how you guys have balanced it up the other way.
|
# ? Apr 15, 2019 12:39 |

The tanker was worth 31 points and the sub only 6, if nothing else it's a good trade on a 5:1 points basis.

I don't think the points take into consideration the continued utility of the ship though, do they? Grey's sub could have continued to sink more ships, in theory, so its value is probably a bit higher than " e: I forgot that points are based on the number of engines. The battle to supply Japan continues. Buna gets another shelling. The other raiding force gets attacked by air assets. Rabaul also sees another attack. I wonder if they will stick around to fight this time? No. They get back onto the ships by the combat phase. The AI seems incapable of remembering that I own Ndeni, not it.

Have you got any mobile coastal guns you can slip into Ndeni so you can rack up even more tasty LSM kills?

More PT boats randomly explode. Their not much, but they are something. They are protected on the way home. I'd call this evens, but these reports are inaccurate. It's a bad day for the Liberators. The skies continue to be mine. As do the seas.

15 April 1945 Near Lindesnes in southern Norway, the German minesweeper M-368 runs over a British air-laid mine while towing a U-boat... that it had previously damaged by colliding with it. 16 April 1945 USS Sunfish torpedoes escort No. 73 just off Todosaki, Honshu. Suicide attacks in area around Okinawa intensify again, claiming the picket destroyer Pringle sunk and picket destroyer-minesweeper Harding damaged beyond repair. Laffey, another picket destroyer, famously survives seven kamikaze and four bomb hits in 80 minutes. A carrier and two more small ships sustain sufficient damage to require them to return to the United States for repair. Back in the ETO, minesweeper HMCS Esquimalt is hit by a torpedo from U-190 and frigate HMS Ekins is mined off Ostend, suffering enough damage to make repair not worthwhile. RAF Halifaxes armed with 12,000-pound bombs sink the pocket battleship Lützow with near misses in the Kaiserfahrt Canal at Swinemünde.

The carriers are heading out again. This means dogfights over Munda on the way in and out. More Allied pilots commit suicide. I wonder if the carriers will catch anything nice?

Btw did you ever look into that thing i talked about in Burma? The one where i was pretty sure you could evacuate the damaged planes from their constantly bombarded airfield, by using the railroad? Just curious since im certain it'd work for the allies, but i have not played as the japanese.

In a distance Hell’s March starts faintly, and slowly raises in volume, 25 CVs leave their moorings in Pearl and other bases, more than 2000 planes wait to strike Grey’s fleet.
