If it didn't happen, then there'd be no character driven sequences. You're looking at the wide plot. Look at the individuals they brought together. So many of them were crucial to the plot and development of the show. If we don't have a few minutes of exposition, then we as the audience will never get a satisfactory resolution. Imo if they don't like it there's no way to explain it to them. The joy is simply gone from their hearts

I know, but he's the author's insert character and he can't die until at least the very end if he does die. I would bet you actual money he will survive until the last episode

Yeah the dead are gonna rise up. Remember when Bran and Jalen Reed or whatever was attacked and it was just some skeletons. It's gonna be that again I bet. Also what ever happened to Howland Reed. I guess he never will turn up in the show! Unless he did and that's another thing I forgot.

I just remembered, when Bran first got to the other 3-eyed raven they were attacked by skeletons that didn't have much if any meat left on them, so really a crypt full of skeletons is still doable. That might have just been the three-eyed raven's home defense system though.
