If this had been any other track besides Long Beach (ok, maybe Belle Isle) there's no way Albuquerque would've held out against the two Acuras. What the gently caress was IMSA thinking giving them a huge weight reduction (20 loving kilograms!) and boost increase at the same time, the car itself has been extremely competitive all year aside from its tendency to burn through tires somewhat quicklyMazeOfTzeentch posted:55 spun on lap 1, 77 was leading till a long pit stop (and I think being held out on track too long before it, got undercut) I think the 77's final pit stop was normal, but it had lost its pace after coming out for some reason. Jarvis managed to stay steadily ahead of the one JDC-Miller car behind him but constantly lost more and more ground to the top 3. Maybe taking only the left side tires made it really lovely to drive or something

The first round of Super GT was a bit of a dud, with the race being stopped due to weather. It's a little surprising they didn't call it sooner given how much water there was around the track.

I think they might (this happened even with NISMO.TV, they missed the first round in 2016..?) but hopefully somebody covers the races for overseas markets. I'm guessing the GTA wants somebody to give them money for it.

Super Formula starts this weekend! Anime Formula is almost like a Japanese version of IndyCar if they didn't bother with the ovals at all -- Super Formula uses a spec chassis, everybody has Advan tires, and the teams are split between Toyota and Honda power plants (which they share with the Super GT GT500 class cars, they're small 4 cylinders boosted to the high heavens). The big difference to IndyCar, and what makes them almost a baby Formula 1, is the sheer downforce these things produce. I think they’re faster than everything besides F1. Good for Makino. Thought he showed a lot of flashes of talent in F2 and even won a race in his only season.

I just double checked and the fastest race lap for Super Formula from Fuji last year was about a second off the pole time for the WEC LMP1H Toyotas. (Qualifying times were 13 seconds off so it was probably wet). They are fast.

Let's Go Racing put up a post about Super GT on their Youtube page, basically they had a potential deal agreed but a subscription service came in (I'm assuming Motorsport) before they were able to close and demanded exclusive rights and got it instead. They did also say they have Super Formula for 2020 at least. Also a dude running for mayor of Paris is complaining about how Formula E cars are too loud and making ending the Paris ePrix part of his campaign.
