All amphibious troops keep their poo poo move, aquatic troops move two or three. Make some items that allow N size of amphib troops to count as aquatic. Cast the gloop global to slow everything down by thickening the ocean. Fill the deep ocean with undersea volcanoes and aquatic horrors.

It has 0 encumbrance I guess. In case you are unfamiliar, the shroud makes it so the unit always carries the bless of their Pretender God, even if they are not sacred themselves. A prophet is innately always blessed though.  Reinvigoration is good as you don't want to get too tired killing one troop at a time. My thug verdict- He is OKAY but... uh without fire resistance he is probably hosed because...  The flaming arrows(javelins) caster is still there.  About this time I notice that uh hey why are some helote warriors all purple is that decay?  :a second thug appears in the bushes to my flank: clever girl  haha oh my god check out the flavor text on this thing i love it  CURSED FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. BUT THOSE LIVES MAY BE VERY SHORT BECAUSE The Doom Glaive is my new favorite thug weapon.  Anyway, uh, things don't go so hot. Doom Glaive guy goes down in a hail of flaming javelins. The prophet thug WHO DOES NOT HAVE A COOL NAME BY THE WAY catches a chest wound and his morale breaks. The dude flees back into the fort  YOU CAN TURN INTO A WEREWOLF??? GET BACK INTO THE FRAY YOU INCREDIBLE COWARD.  i cant even  The capital remains seiged but not breached for now. The thugs killed like 6 dudes between them which is not a good look.   I clear more indies in the phaecia zone. On to events!   Um... ok challenge accepted.  Being a slob continues to pay incredible dividends.  I love trade now.  RIP he caught a disease of old age last winter I think. Diseased units lose 10% of their hit points every turn and do not recover lost hit points at the end of every month like (most) normal units do.  Overview.  I am moving down this way now also hey it is Vanheim.  This is the site in the province I just took. Resources are nice for me and water gems are always useful.  Behold Vanheim who is AI apparently now but apparently it used to be  I am about to make a fort here when I notice my mermage is diseased... but he isn't an old man. Then I notice the death scales on the province. WELL OF PESTILENCE I guess. I move my dude SE to make the fort there instead because nnnnope. The Well of Pestilence is a site that gives +1 death gems when found but also spreads diseases and increases the death scale in the province it is in. If you see a weird high death rating in a province it is probably because of a Well, but there are other less fatal sites that can add death (Dying Forest, a nature site, comes to mind).  Going into this new sea area here. Gonna stretch out. So luxurious. Forevereal expansion. Going to get eyes on the throne and probably set up a fort here too.  Orders overview. It's still a bless that requires you die so it's going to pretty much always be bad overall.

Is it possible the shroud on the prophet is there to make sure he stays blessed in werewolf form? Because of all the wacky coding in Dominions I could believe that when he transforms into werewolf form, he might be considered a new/different unit and not the prophet or blessed anymore. Or maybe his old prophet died and he just decided to prophetize some big thug he had laying around and it was stuck with the shroud on?

Pretty sure blesses carry over to second forms, or there would be a lot of angry Mictlans since Jaguar Warriors would stop being absurdly good. Suicide explosion tactics are dear to me after I got my second Dom3 goongame victory on the back of the Phoenix pretender having innate immortality + autocasting the explode and revive buff every combat in whatever mod that was. I used him as a feathery cruise missile to clear out most of the PD in a province on his own without needing any major investment. He racked up something like 30 deaths by the end of year 1; I suspect people might've cottoned on to my cunning plan even though I cleverly named him Totally Not a Phoenix to throw them off the scent.

For what it's worth, I tried an explosion bless with Machakan Black Hunter Spiders, and I was very sad. The rider dying doesn't get you a free kaboom.

The ultimate suicide bless is air 4 for charged bodies, fire 5 for kaboom, blood 8 for blood vengeance, astral 7 for fateweaving (reducing enemy magic and elemental resistance rolls for a few turns when they attack you), and optional earth 5 for basic chain explosion aversion and giving your sacreds a 50% chance of not getting zapped by their own bless, add 1 extra air to make it closer to 90%. LA Marignon would be able to potentially get this with only moderately trashed scales, and playing LA Marignon is pretty much suicide anyway. my dad fucked around with this message at 23:37 on Apr 22, 2019 |
