Beer is worse than the vast majority of recreational drugs. It is, in fact, one of the only ones which will kill you when you quit.

No one is cooking Molly or Ketamine when they can use the same channels they used for precursors to just get it wholesale.
So you're saying that bitcoin has undermined the drug industry in America, and now all manufacturing takes place overseas?

If you had to choose between your best friend getting a drug problem or getting super into Bitcoin, which would you rather deal with?

Also just lol if you buy drugs off the internet, but extended belly-lols if you also don't just own a test kit at that point.

Alcohol is less damaging than "drugs" only because it is regulated. The libertarian nightmare wet dream of having no regulations would be an alcohol industry where people make alcohol in their bathtubs and a third of their customers would die or go blind.

Arguing which is more damaging is irrelevant because the real answer is "oversight and regulations". Which is the thing Bitcoin is gleefully trying to bypass.

150 years? 200 maybe? I think it'll be fine. Cops don't prevent crime or protect civilians, so what's they're use if you're not a rich landowner, politician, or CEO?

And you think hundreds of years ago when villages had to fend for themselves and exile or hang thieves by themselves is a preferable state?

Have you ever lived in a country where the cops would not deal with your complaints unless you literally put cash in their hands? And you somehow think that situation would be better if we don't have cops?

You have the same mindset as bitcoiners, ironically. "The financial system is whack so let's tear it down and make it a free for all! Surely that is better!".

poo poo cops does not mean the police system is poo poo. It just means people are poo poo. If we could appoint German Shepherds as the sole law enforcement, I'd be up for that. Protect the citizens and uphold the law for belly rubs and bacon snacks.

This is also wrong because even while being the most heavily regulated substance it still kills me people annually than opioid addiction by a lot (90k annually for alcohol vs 70K annually by opioids).

Alcohol related deaths are the 3rd highest form of preventable deaths in the US.

90K annually for a widely distributed and available substance, to 70K for a substance you can't buy without prescription or connection to black markets.

Again, I'm not saying alcohol is less deadly than drugs. I'm just saying regulations actually curbed the damage it's doing. Not everything is better off deregulated like libertarians and bitcoiners believe.

Yes that’s alcohol related. Any time someone dies prematurely with alcohol in their system, cops mark it as alcohol.

My point isn’t that deregulation is good, LoL Jesus no, my point is that even after 100 years of legalization and regulation alcohol is still a toxic poison that kills more people than hard drugs. That’s how BAD alcohol is and basically anyone who parrots a “Drugs are bad!” soundbite while doing poo poo like drinking coffee or smoking cigarettes is transparently brainwashed, that’s all. Nobody is sober. The worst part of Bitcoin was never the drug trade, it was definitely the child porn and the scam artists. If Bitcoin were exclusively used to buy drugs, it would honestly be pretty cool.

But there’s literally child porn in the block chain so what can you do?
