The idea is that I have a bunch of gear on a workbench and not easy access to the actual wall outlet that has individual switches. I wanted a standalone extra measure after I came home to a melted iron after I got drunk working on something and went to the pub.

In the EU you're pretty certain Pyrex is actually borosilicate glass instead of the cheaper tempered soda lime glass. It's just as good!!
