drat I just realized The Chronic came out in 92 and I guess I was like 13 when we were listening to that thing on repeat all the time... like Junior High.

Anyway, this new EP or whatever by Rico Nasty has some good tracks on it.. KENNNY

STRIKE!
Thread help me I feel like I’m going insane.

At work so stuck on mobile, but I cannot find this small project T-Pain released a few years back. Specifically this song that samples school house rock and the chorus includes the kids going “one two three four five, six seven eight nine ten”

When I google that it brings up the Pr33 mixtape but I didn’t recognize any of the track names.

99% sure it was on a mixtape or some other small project

This track really nails that vibe too. I’m just a sucker for 90s Memphis poo poo.

Also shout out to SGP for being the progenitor of that for this generation.

And shout out to Juicy for loving with all of them. I read in passing that some of the Three 6 members don’t like what the Suicideboys do, but like... they clearly respect what Paul and Juicy and the crew do.

Most of tripple sixes early things were very heavy on the beats being samples of movies / other peoples music, so them complaning about anyone using themself is so hypocrtitical lol.

1. gang gang - yep bangs.
2. tales - interesting lazy, languid beat, but q sounds really low energy. not a great start. would probably appreciate something like this after a couple high energy tracks.
3. chopstix - ugh. do you like travis scott? q is decent.
4. numb numb juice - you've heard it, it bangs
5. drunk - q is decent and 6lack really compliments the track. really just made me want to listen to swimming pools though.
6. lies - ty dolla feature is great. q and yg bar out and compliment each other perfectly, so much so that i really want a mustard produced yg / q collab
7. 5200 - not a maxo song :( seriously though this song loving bangs. q is fully in his rhythm. love it.
8. black folk - really cool beat with a melody that sounds like it was pulled from a snes rpg. i mean that as a compliment.
9. floating - 21 opens up over a filthy bass line and q joins in and bars out. sick track.
10. dangerous - cuddy does his thing on a really heavy, heady track and makes me wish i was stoned.
11. die wit em - there is 100% a theme with the beats. all sort of off kilter but genuinely interesting. love the deep bass and q rides it with skill and enthusiasm.
12. crash - might have been that chopped 'aw' that reminded me of early rocky. sounds like q is being haunted by rocky as he does his thing. i don't know what it is but i love this track.
13. water - i don't appreciate lil baby at all but his appearance here really loving works for the album and i'd never have picked it. very good.
14. attention - sounds like what tales should have been. solid outtro.

overall, i really loving dig this album. looking back tales was the only thing that i didn't find interesting (first listen) and chopstix is whatever but literally everything else deserves to be heard. get it.

Listening to Kevin Abstract's new album. Goddamn, the bass on this album is so fuckin' good and groovy. I just wanna bask in it. Like take a blanket and my Bluetooth speaker outside and soak up both this and the sun at the same time.

This is a good summer album for sure. I'll probably be jamming to this a lot for the next few months. This is more like what I wanted the most recent 2 Anderson .Paak albums to be.

e: Listening to the new Q album and Numb Numb Juice is obviously the best track so far and that came out a month ago! Hopefully there are some other standouts on here that I haven't already heard for a month.
