I know they're evil and all but they're a good kind of evil. The uniforms are way cool and they get to travel and blow stuff up. And chicks dig Stormtroopers big time. They're like intergalactic rockstars. Stormtroopers get laid man, but not me: if I want a little love I gotta hitch a ride to Mos Eisley and pay 50 credits for a wookie prostitute. 15 seconds of pleasure, 50 years of regret. Wookie love is pointless. My life is pointless. I gotta get off this planet.

It was a poll, who do you identify with: the resistance, or the first order?

Bohdi Rook in Rogue One was absolutely one of those “took a job with the Empire to get off the dirt planet.” The other choices were being a panhandler (who were routinely harassed by Empire Stormtroopers), a merc, or death.

Not necessarily a dumb move at the time but I was watching and old VHS tape of Real World episodes from 1994 and there was this ad (only 30 seconds) https://youtu.be/OAr84TExVBw Five years before Columbine but the whole “You’re an angry middle class kid who feels put on so get revenge” thing wasn’t well considered even at the time

I never realised just how weird UK adverts got until I was talking to a friend in the US about them and got their reactions, like the Capri Sun Character Packets: The old peperami animal ads, featuring a salami stick with a vore fetish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9UVbEAhkhs And of course the ubiquitous meerkat adverts, which developed the characters enough that they had little semi-arcs as the ad campaign progressed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEe47M0wafE My friend had never heard of any of them and their reaction was just "What the gently caress..." Apparently the Peperami ad had a tie in game, which I am downloading as we speak to run in drop box, simply called "Animal". BioEnchanted has a new favorite as of 05:26 on Apr 17, 2019 |

Apparently there even was an ad featuring the title theme from the Robocop game for the Game Boy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpWeMWbKBIk Which always was a pretty rockin’ tune. Clearly composed by someone familiar with composing musical ditties, and who could handle the Game Boy’s inferior sound chip. The game was pretty decent too.

Not quite, Robocop 1 was by Jonathan Dunn, who worked on a lot of in-house Ocean stuff. Jeroen Tel did Robocop 3 which was a fantastic soundtrack as well. Matt Gray (Last Ninja 2) did remixes of Robocop and Platoon for his Reformation 2 album - check them out if you like his style.

Bethesda released a free tabletop RPG to promote the next expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online. That's pretty cool I guess. If it wasn't for the fact that they just plagiarised a D&D Module from 2016
