I'm really hoping they'll make the Trust system open enough that they can just start adding in dudes like Hoary Boulder as potential Trusts you can take along. There's a lot of side characters throughout the story that it'd be nice to see more often, and Trusts seem like the perfect excuse to drag 'em into the limelight again.

This would be cool. Various NPCs you've met would be good. I want the Haukke Manor butler as a Scholar.

What's your current level? Every healer struggles to a certain extent with the 41-50 bump, and a lot of Heavensward leveling content gets speedrun by synced tanks, which can end up chewing through your mana if you're undergeared compared to the dungeon's ilvl.

Scholar, in general, wants to limit their personal healing output as much as possible. Galvanize should be used before a pull, and then only used if the tank is in danger of dying and your faerie needs time to catch up. Pre-50, always have Eos out and set to Obey. Alternate between Whispering Dawn, Rouse, and Fey Illumination from pull to pull to put out additional healing on the tank. Ideally, you should manually control her to be in a good position to heal the tank/hit him with Whispering Dawn, but you can also just run up alongside the tank as they pull if you'd prefer to avoid the hassle. Using Physick is fine pre-50 if you need to keep up with healing. Post-50, use Lustrate to top up the tank when needed and Indomitability when your group takes damage that needs to be healed immediately (instead of over time with Whispering Dawn).

Whenever the tank doesn't require immediate healing, you should be DPSing. Especially in lower level content, a good Scholar can pump out DPS well within 80-90% of what good DPS are doing. The faster that things die, the easier it is for your faerie to keep pace with healing, and the less mana you need to spend on hideously expensive Adloquiums.

I just got to 66. I'll use Lustrate more and Adloquium less, and exercise more control over Eos.

So my question as a super new is, I've gotten to the part where I can open up all the ARR jobs, both fight and DoH/DoL. Is it best to focus on your main class to 50 without veering off, or is it worthwhile to break off occasionally and level the other jobs? I actually like bouncing around between jobs but am I wasting time?

scholar life in SB leveling dungeons is hell because everything hits like a truck there and your best heal skill is on a 45s cooldown and you don't have your level 70 skill yet.

You'll probably want to continue with the main one at least until you unlock mounts at lvl 30, running around everywhere is a bit of a chore. DoH/DoL I'd probably leave for later.

20, but because of various leveling bonuses it's more accurate to say you get your mount after fighting your first primal.

You're also at the game's second big hump for healers. Bardam's is a pain for most healers, and it absolutely loving sucks for SCH: you have no AoE stuns to slow down incoming damage like AST and WHM do, nor do you have their raw throughput options at that level. Ensuring Eos is manually controlled and using Aetherflow wisely will definitely help, but Bardam's will always make you feel like you're running on fumes.

Another newbie leveling question: I've got my main job in the low 40's and I'm leveling along at a good clip with the duty roulette and just running through ARR stuff but my tank classes, for example, are both at level 11 and so I can't start Dutying them up. What's the best way to push them to 15? Hunting logs and FATEs as I run by them or is there another trick for it?

Palace of the Dead is probably your best choice, you have to be 17 on some class to unlock it but after that you can go in at 1.

I hope that before we can make it to the First we get to have a plotline with the Scion B Team. Arenvald and Fordola are off doing their own thing but they're bound to pop up again sooner or later, too, and they've got the two major variations of the Echo that exist.

Have they changed POTD so that you can equip your jobstone now without having to reset your progress or do you still have to take it off or reset? I remember leveling MRD with it but I couldn't enter as WAR without resetting it or using a different save slot.

Don't you have to be 15 to queue for potd? And even then, is soloing 1-10 potd worth it over fates and the hunt log?

Keep burning through the main story quest long enough to get the mount and the fighting chocobo companion, which is about level 30. After that, the strictly optimal thing to do is keep burning the msq until there's no more msq to do. But since this is a game and ostensibly you play it for fun, if you find dipping into the other classes fun, then by all means do them. There isn't really an endgame to get to right now since we're less than 2 months from the expansion.

Yeah she's murdering primals whenever they show up with Arv. One of the Stormblood side stories goes into this, also how Uldah is using summoners for support thanks to them being able to stand out of temper distance while supporting.

You should basically never do 1-10 because 51-60 gives you more exp iirc and also starts you at 60.

This would rule. Trusts in XI are such a robust system they've also become another sort of goal in the game, like they put dozens and dozens of trusts behind all the different content and it encourages people to do stuff they otherwise wouldn't to get them.

this but with the exception that like obviously if you haven't beaten 50 once you're going to have to get there first

also someone above asked this but I am 99% certain that as soon as you've unlocked POTD at 15 on one job you can go in at level 1 on any other job so for the context of this conversation my advice would be take the job you want to level and do POTD until you beat floor 50 and then just do 51-60 whenever you need XP on a DPS class
