So basically if a rancher has shrooms growing on his farm he can't be busted? Since they just grown there anyway.

It's not a bad law, imagine if you owned a couple acres and the cops found some ditch weed growing in the brush that you had absolutely no clue about and wouldn't be smoking anyway because ht's lovely weed.

Now if they went back there and found a bunch of gorgeous high-grade weed plants it's pretty clear you took care to plant them there because of how good weed is grown and tended.

I don’t think I’ve seen this discussed here, but there’s a new podcast out called It Could Happen Here about what a second American civil war could look like, and how one could start. The author/narrator spent time in Ukraine during their revolution and Iraq during the battle of Mosul and shares his observations in the context of American society. At times, he may oversell his case slightly, but when he dips into technical and tactical things that he observed, that’s when the podcast gets super interesting.

It obviously has a left bias, but he does try to explain how he sees the American left becoming potentially more radical and violent (even going so far as to reference guillotines!) That said, the anecdotes and quotes he shares about the alt and religious right are pretty :stare:.

I leave each episode feeling like I just got done watching Children of Men. It’s worth a listen, just make sure you’re in a good headspace before doing so.

I was just coming here to post this, so I'll second your post. Today's episode is especially grim, and deals with the increasingly violent rhetoric of the left as well (yeah, we all know the right has been doing this for decades).

This podcast is encouraging me to go out and buy more guns.

HR 553 is up to 273 cosponsors. Only 17 more to go! At the rate it's going, it should hit the magic number within a week!

I can't wait to hear what excuses Congress comes up with when they vote it down.

Could be any one of 163 Congressfuckers who haven't cosponsored. The House has 433 members (two vacancies), plus the five non-voting members (three of whom are cosponsors).

Warning that today's episode has some transphobia in it (which is not surprising considering the hypothetical plotline/story he is telling at the beginning of each ep)

I think it is worth clarifying that the episode and podcaster aren't transphobic. He's just discussing what hate crimes would probably be happening if a far right militia began conducting terrorist operations. He also discusses what leftist terrorist groups would be doing.

Yes, that's a good point. There's a description of a rightist christian militia that does bad things, but the author is a decent dude, afaict

yeah I was hoping for an Avalanches-Canes showdown but it was not to be. I'm worried about how well the hurricanes will hold against Boston and their star wars character goalie though. With the BJs out, I'm hoping Carolina can sweep a second series and everyone can have a laugh.

Bolton is the Trumpkin I worry about most right now because he's the most likely to help start a war.

Remember that time Christie wasn't allowed on Donnie's plane, and made him fly separate? It would be hilarious if Pompeo got fired while in Iraq, and abandoned there.
