I have pretty much only seen American doctors, not necessarily by choice but that is just how it's ended up and I don't have any complaints about my doctors. The only non American doctor I can remember was a dentist (does that even count?) who had horrible bedside manners and was constantly speaking to one of his relatives. I was in the drat chair for about 2 hrs for a routine cleaning because that rear end in a top hat kept leaving to go talk to the his mom/spouse/whatever. If that wasn't bad enough it was also the worst pain I have ever felt while in a dentist's chair. Then the billing was hosed up. . . That will be $300 for three fillings. Bullshit I didn't have any fillings done today, routine cleaning only. Oh OK sorry. *clackity clack* $300 for two fillings. No, no fillings were done, zero fillings, cleaning only. I'm sorry *clackity clackity* $300 teeth cleaning only.Not only was it my most expensive, painful and rude experience I've ever had, 3 years later I still get voice mails asking me to schedule my next filling.

Maybe we just have a different definition of luxury but to me it would be having personal assistants who anticipate and meet your every need with the best private chefs etc and 250k is more like a bigger than average house, nicer car, private school for the kids etc. Sure it's luxury compared to people below the poverty line but when the scale of wealth and luxury goes all the way up to Jeff Bezos 250k ain't poo poo. (Also part of the reason doctors are so highly paid is because medical schools create an artificial scarcity; there are plenty of high-stress, high-stakes jobs that don't get paid $250k/year.)

My personal favorite schedule was Friday Saturday Sunday 6 p.m. to 630 a.m. It was obviously brutal on the weekends but having most of the week off was great. I like night shifts, though I know they're not for everyone. It was warehouse work btw, not prostitution.
