Personal highlights: Indicating with his hand when he turns into the service lane because that's going to make everything safe, and throwing a paper plate at the guy filming.

So, I'm not a math guy, but it seems like the amount of breaking friction provided by the front loader wouldn't mean jack poo poo in that situation.

That's why everyone's backing up, in case the brakes don't work.

I did NOT expect the twist at the end. Sure, the older white haired man was doomed from the start, but because he wasn't in his car? And the baby, too. Did not see that coming.

I was really amused by the image of the front loader impotently raising its bucket. It's like the scaled up version of "Don't try to catch a falling car."

I'd say it's an internal training film, not meant for the public to see.

Love all the BL defenders in the comments btw.
"Sometimes German and Japanese cars have quality issues too! Therefore BL is good."

Yeah nah mate those cars were universally shite and there's a good reason most of them aren't on the road anymore. You only ever see mini's and that's because people actually like them despite their flaws.

An extra treat If you are a Brit of a certain age: all the actors are household faces from very popular TV programmes.

Like all of them.

On the Buses, Poirot, Only Fools and Horses, Are You Being Served, Z Cars.

(Think like Sandford and Son, The Brady Bunch, etc)

I had the displeasure of driving an Leyland made ambulance several years back that was imported from the UK. That video is pretty on point.

A lot of industries like to look at quality and the impacts you get on a Monday or Friday in a shop between absenteeism leaving them shorthanded or people there not really being into it.

I'm far away from knowing anything specific about it but I like to think English manufacturing had a hard time getting away from liquid lunches and a dinner round the pub so the entire work week was always like a Monday or Friday.

"Those shiftless union layabouts crippling our industries" has been an awfully convenient narrative for the neoliberal governments of the last 40 years.

I'm sure it's nothing to do with management not spending time or money on QA or efficiency in the way that Japanese car makers did, and instead relying on a safe domestic market that would never be open to competition.

The fall of the british industrial sector was a special circumstance that couldn't have been done without incompetency at every level or worker, private manager, and government bureaucrat. Its really impressive it failed to thrive at so many levels. A car aggressively disintegrating into its constituent parts was a modern feat in a way.

There's something so fundamentally British about this "sure our supply chain and logistics are poo poo, we don't upgrade our factories to accommodate bigger and more complex builds, and all our tools are half worn out, but it's you lot who are causing crummy cars"
