If that leak with Jon finding evidence of White Walkers after going North in a self-imposed exile ends up being true I'd be pretty happy.

There were rumors about that happening in an epilogue or post credit or whatever. If not it's weird that Jon goes back to the wall anyways.

Even though it makes no sense and is just a hook to get you to watch the prequel they're making?

I know that the leaks are out and are true, but I really really hope next episode Jaime and Cersei climb out of the rubble after protecting themselves under the dragon skull and they set off to leave happily everafter in Essos.

Like take how wounds are handled in the show. In the first season, Drogo dies from an infection during battle, and Ned gets stabbed in the leg and has to limp for the rest of his life. These have impact in part because we've seen so many shows where heroes get serious wounds and then walk it off.

Then in this episode we see Jaime get stabbes multiple times but it hardly slows him down. The show looks like it's either rewriting its established rules or regressing to spectacle over substance.

The show handles it in a way that Drogo died from Mirri's poultice. Remember Arya got stabbed a billion times and fell into a sewer and wasn't any worse for the wear

It'd make for great TV. The show is schlocky enough that it'd be fine.

Cut to Cersei lying on a beach chair surrounded by a bunch of shirtless, hunky foreigners attending to her. She lowers her sunglasses, looks directly into the camera and says "Now THIS I could get used to" and winks.

They should have leaned in 100% to the schlockiness this season. Have Dany telepathically communicate with her dragons. Make Ned's ghost manifest and talk to Jon when he's down in the Winterfell crypts. Give Podrick dragonglass nunchucks for the Winterfell fight.

See this, Benioff and Weiss? This is quality loving TV.

e: I don't know which is funnier, the books actually being done, or Barristan Selmy's actor just taking the opportunity to throw a grenade into this situation because he's mad at everyone involved for how his character was killed off.

Wasn't the actor who played Selmy super bitter about getting written off the show while his book counterpart was still alive and kicking? Dude's gotta be loving with people, right?

I think he can hear you, Ray.
I wonder how much different Bronn's storyline would've gone if not for the fact he's literally not allowed on the same set as Lena Headley.

Also, Jaime claiming he never cared about the people of King's Landing felt like an untrue moment to me.

Why is he not? He says hoping it’s not terrible or rapey but very worried.

I honestly liked the episode.

Mostly because, even though I had emotionally distanced myself away from this show way before the season even started during previous seasons, I was internally just cackling like a madman what a fitting beginning of an epilogue this is for this show that has turned into a huge trash fire. It's so bad I wanna see it burn.

edit: I also can't help but think about various viewing parties and various totally genuine reaction videos during every scene now.

There were numerous statements from Grum about trying to stay ahead of the show, about him wanting Debate& Discussion to pause the show till he is finished, etc. Basically, that story makes zero sense any way you look at it it. It's just a dumb troll, joke or misunderstanding from the actor

Yeah I’m pretty sure he recently said he was working on Winds again after taking a break to work on other stuff. Highly doubt two books are ready to go.
