if the question you're asking yourself is "should i get actively involved with x y or z party/organization or do nothing" the correct answer is almost always the same.

I feel with climate change and the rise of fascism that there is limited time to do things right. I do a lot of environmental work, and have been developing my roots in activist communities. And my major concern is endorsing a party that is stealth chauvinistic and has issues with sex pests, terfs, and fascists. I don't want to waste a bunch of time playing in a dumpster. But so far nothing seems to be giving me the indication the Canadian Party has those problems.

Is there any historical precedent that one method is better than the other? I like the idea of entryism, but the NDP kinda sucks. And all day every day everything I do is working with people that suck. At least with the CPC I can breathe and feel like I'm somewhere where I belong.

I'm honestly curious what's the best way to build a socialist movement. I'm a fairly effective organiser, and I think my skills could be put into good use in the political scene. But my perspective is limited, since most of my understanding of socialism in Canada..... is online.

When I spoke to one of their prominent party organisers, he didn't really claim that the CPC was going to make any immediate electoral victories. But he said, which I 100% agree with, is that the parties purpose is to raise class consciousness. Especially as climate change and globalization continues to erode our society. There needs to be a party willing to provide an alternative to the our current tendency of drifting to eco-fascism.
But on the other hand, he did say that the party has experienced a huge increase in membership and activity lately. So maybe it's too early to tell?

I was going to start my own group, but then I read the CPC Program and realized it was my jam. Not sure why I would start my own party if I already identify with an existing party.

They regularly print a couple magazines (of course lol) Rebel Youth, People's Voice, and have a well thought out program. Outside of that, the material action is through activism, which is displayed on their twitter if you wanna check it out

How does one fight climate change and globalization at the same time? It seems like one would want to be on the inside of the global economy if one was going to want to influence other nations into making economic sacrifices to improve the global climate.

I imagine that's the same sort of idea of how the Green Party made the news when they doubled the number of seats they have.

Edit: also "globalism eroding our society" is fascist speak for "I don't like all these immigrants"

electoral power isnt possible for any party federally other than the libs or the cons unless we end up in some sort of weird kingmaker minority scenario and even then the libcons would probably just prop each other up anyways.

any organization using the word 'communist' in the name is ever going to get enough widespread support socially to have any influence whatsoever. like im glad the local cpc organization in your area has gone from 30 to 35 members, but hanging out with some niche dudes isnt going to help the world. as an activist you are better off trying to organize people into single-issue groups and protests at this point and leading into organized movements from there.
