I watched the Arthur Chu documentary on Matt’s recommendation and though it was good, I didn’t quite get as much out of it as he did. Maybe the married failson dynamic hit a chord with him. The dynamic with his wife was the hardest to watch but suprise, nerds have awkward social interactions. If anything I thought him speaking extemporaneously to crowds made him come across very sympathetic.

The ending brought me to tears. He goes back to Taiwon to meet his dad's secret family and his dad beams with pride about how his son won the American Gameshow Jeapordy Award 11 times. The tragedy being Arthur Chu can't understand, so the catharsis is lost on him as his ears perked at the mention of Jeapordy. I need help for ep 315. Where can I find that Sex and the City clip they used to close the show.

Nah, I'm gonna complain that while Matt's analysis of zoomers atomized by the internet is roughly on the money, a critical other side of that coin is that it has also allowed marginalized young people to connect and find communities. Yes, sure, if you were the one weird kid in town, before the internet you probably adapted and became a "normal person" by Amber and Matt standards. On the other hand, if you were the one trans or queer kid in town, you probably killed yourself or lived a miserable life of self-censorship, but now with the internet you know that you are not alone and that there are other people like you. I also suspect neither of them were bullied in school.
