Getting it to write Back To The Future sequels

quote:

"Doc! You have to take me back to the future again!" Screamed Marty McFly.

"Well, I'm sorry, Marty! But…I'll have to make do with that," replied Doc. "And you're free, Marty! That's true. But I don't take you out like I used to. Just to have a quiet moment on a Saturday afternoon."

"So you want me to follow you everywhere, in that flying motorcycle?" Marty said.

"Yes," Doc confirmed. "In that flying motorcycle. And I was going to give you a ride around this town in that flying motorcycle. And then I'd get married."

"Wow! No kidding!" Marty said. "Wow!"

"Well, I had a dream. And now I'm going to follow you into the past with you all on a mission. In a time-traveling machine, Marty. And so we'll be joined there by many others. There will be many people, Doc! You have to understand, I'm not the type to let this happen as I like it to be. I must do

quote:

"Doc! You have to take me back to the future again!" Screamed Marty McFly. He looked down at his feet.

The alien paused, then smiled, and he nodded to Doc, who had no idea what was really going on.

"All the things you think you do are all for show. For this show I'm going to destroy the universe." Marty screamed as Doc grabbed him and threw him off the ship into hyperspace and back to the future. The time traveller was sucked into time just as the future was born and the ship crashed.

Now, back in the present day, Marty was still in front of the time travel computer. The only way Marty could move and talk again was by touching some of the parts of the computer. So Marty touched the computer. Doc then opened the time travel door.

Determined to make Doc stop, Marty put his hand on the time travel sensor of the time travel machine, "So? Do you want to go in there?".

"No, no Doc. Now, you said you would destroy the universe." Doc said, pulling a screwdriver out

quote:

"Doc! You have to take me back to the future again!" Screamed Marty McFly.

Dodging around a wall of flames, Marty returned to the past when he came across "Doc". Marty looked around, realizing that the place he had passed through was not a future anymore but a past. Back in 1964, when Marty was still in high school, the DeLorean had been converted to work, allowing him to be back in a time machine! When Marty reached the future, Marty was still stuck within it! This caused Marty to see himself on a bridge, walking along the banks of a river. That bridge appeared to him to be very far away.

Marty's thoughts then took him on a long, dizzying tour of the valley, and he came to the conclusion that he could still go somewhere that wasn't a time machine and return to that place. He saw the land of ancient Egypt and its buildings, a vision of an ancient man living there. He also came across a stone that resembled a man with two legs and then he realized that he could still drive a car and use his mind as a power source

quote:

"Doc! You have to take me back to the future again!" Screamed Marty McFly. When Marty called Doc, Dr. Zoidberg showed up and demanded to see the Doctor and he reluctantly agreed. Suddenly Marty realized that Zoidberg had a hologram, and his friend's name was James "Jim" Rimmer. Jim told Jim that he came to Earth in order to be with Doc, but they never got beyond that point. He then promised to leave on a helicopter. Jim then disappeared. Doc and Zoidberg then started to work out of the Future Hotel and later stopped in Time Square on their way back to the future.

They came upon the Rimmer and his girlfriend. Rimmer was telling the Rimmer's that the Doc was dead, so Jim told Jim that he wouldn't be going to the Future Hotel. The Rimmer then started screaming that that Marty and Doc weren't going to meet in the future anymore. Marty explained it was because he was too busy fighting on the front lines fighting the Space Pirates to meet Jim. Doc stated he couldn't keep Marty waiting either, and that they had to leave together

I'd watch any of these.

From now on can we move all the GPT text generated stories over to the dedicated thread for it? That's why it exists and where it was all meant to go.

I'd really like to see and post some other procgen stuff (including graphical stuff) without it getting in lost in all the monkey cheese text dumps that must be scrolled past. OP, what do you think?

Here's a recent Youtube tutorial of the software Houdini. Graphics folks know Houdini as a major high-level tool for designing graphical effects just the way you want them.

Houdini allows you to put an algorithm together out of various pieces, each of which has some influence on the final result. Your pieces sit in a big tree data structure that you graphically manipulate, move around, or set the individual parameters of.

Skip around this clip to see all sorts of crazy poo poo in very high detail. These really good looking effects are made in a semi-blind fashion just by moving the tree nodes around. The narrator explains what they're doing.

Ganbreeder users: Anyone else have the system just hang when you try to browse "following" only?

And how the gently caress do I make a black person? I've tried everything, and the best I've gotten was light brown. I'm more likely to get grey or completely monochrome. I've had two characters in my CYOA so far that were meant to be dark of complexion, and I've just had to say "good enough" when they have ruddy cheeks. Anyone else have any luck with this?

I just find it surreal that it's easier to make zombies or fish aliens or dog-men than a black person.

Ganbreeder uses stylenet, which was fed from imagenet, which is a bunch of CS nerds dumping flickr by hand. I think the stylenet folks deliberately picked input categories to exclude people, since you're less likely to nitpick on an orange or koala or w/e

Anyway tl;dr, not a lot of diversity in the training set, and not a lot of focus on people so it sees even less of that.

Which means you can make someone with black skin, but there are some side effects...

quote:

Cats As Pets Get More Human-like

In April 2013, a team at the University of Queensland led by Professor Stephen Stirling published a study in PLOS ONE that concluded that cats are more social than dogs, although there was no reason to think cats had learned anything from their previous experiences in their lives. "We didn't think that dogs had a sense of smell or sight. We just thought that they had some basic empathy, which is a useful trait we do use in society." [1]

The study suggested that domesticated cats might look very similar to their wild, wild ancestors, even though their species is now called "cattle".

So how come that a cat looks different from a dog and vice versa? What is the true relationship? Cats are the only social mammals that can eat without fear or aggression, but can also smell and hear in a similar manner to our domesticated cousins. So, when someone catfishes they are clearly using a very different and less intelligent animal for some sort of entertainment or "stimulating" action. But what is their purpose and why? A study released in 2012 by researchers led by Professor Robert Purdy, of the University of St Andrews, UK, and colleagues, found that the average cat is a social animal, socializing in a very social manner with its friends.

quote:

Woman arrested for eating pizza in Taco Bell

Taco Bell says the pizza wasn't the same as the pizza it was giving free of charge at its U.S. branches in Boston, New York and Columbus. According to The Boston Globe, "no complaints about the customer or about the pizza ever reached T.J. Miller, the chain's vice president of corporate communications. He said it's 'tough to figure out, honestly.'"

Miller also said that "our restaurants are not a restaurant unto themselves," adding that the pizza "sans any special sauce and comes pre-packaged with a box of Crusty Pillsbury [slimy cheese cheese] Crushed Pretzel Squares."

It's unlikely that any customer at T.J. Miller was going to complain to management. The fact that its customer service people were so clueless about a $7 slice of pie that they forgot it came with Crusty Pillsbury Crushed Pretzel Squares, and so forth indicates that this pizza had a special purpose that didn't fit into normal food items offered free of charge. At best, customers at T.J. Miller were going to complain about the price of their food -- there has to be some other reasons to complain instead of having it delivered by employees.
