Nice to see Vince's treatment of Jericho on the Saudi trip also coming back to blow up in his face

What happened between Vince and Jericho? efb

Nothing personal, Jericho just hated the trip a lot. Partially because he couldn't get a drink and he is kind of a lush.

Hedgehog Pie posted:What happened between Vince and Jericho? Though the Saudi Arabia thing was its own issue, Jericho did discover that despite first getting Vince's blessing to go do some New Japan dates, and despite actually talking to him at least once about ALL IN, Vince started seemingly holding it against him, no longer responding to messages or ideas he used to be open to, showing no interest in booking him for anything, and then having WWE tell him he wasn't allowed any WWE wrestlers on his podcast anymore etc. It seems to have gotten to the point where Jericho and WWE are basically cold towards each other though not really yet openly antagnostic (Jericho might be pushing more in that direction).

WWE's attitude toward Jericho has also led to really dumb-assed things like "The silly Raw vs Smackdown GM Mode video series that Woods and Breeze do getting hacked all to hell because one of them has Jericho on his video game roster and they won't let his name or likeness be shown"

Their rumble episode has cut Jericho from it completely.

I also have to imagine spending over half a year building towards a big WrestleMania world title win, only for Brock to go, "Vince, make me champ instead and I'll job to Goldberg," would sting a lot. Especially considering he was shoved aside for two guys he famously does not like.

Don't forget Jericho pretty much held the position of foremost veteran in the locker room since he was the most liked, respected, and decorated full time wrestler on the roster (sorry Kane and Dustin). It sends a really bad message to the roster when they see the company's relationship sour so badly with an important leader/figure like Jericho (despite his faults like being drinking buddies with Enzo)
